{"id":104457,"date":"2017-01-20T10:04:50","date_gmt":"2017-01-20T15:04:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/?p=104457"},"modified":"2017-01-20T10:04:50","modified_gmt":"2017-01-20T15:04:50","slug":"announcing-mathworks-site-license-for-matlab","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/2017\/01\/20\/announcing-mathworks-site-license-for-matlab\/","title":{"rendered":"Announcing MathWorks Site License for MATLAB"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">We are delighted to announce Boston University has adopted the MathWorks Total Academic Headcount (TAH) site-wide license program giving BU students, faculty, staff, labs, and computing clusters unlimited access to software and licenses for MATLAB, Simulink, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mathworks.com\/academia\/tah-portal\/bu-products.html?s_tid=tah_po_list_bu\"><span class=\"s2\">48 add-on products<\/span><\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0<b>no cost<\/b>\u00a0to individuals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>If you are already set up to use MATLAB, you do not need to do anything to continue uninterrupted use of your current installation. When you wish to download a new version of the software and additional tool boxes, you will want to take advantage of BU\u2019s new MathWorks TAH licensing program.\u00a0<span class=\"s3\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\">For detailed information and instructions please visit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/cccs\/desktop\/distribution\/mathsci\/matlab\/\"><span class=\"s2\">BU\u2019s MATLAB TAH license<\/span><\/a>\u00a0page.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Students, Faculty, and Staff<\/h3>\n<p>BU students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to get an individual stand-alone copy of the software and TAH license for each of the machines on which you are the\u00a0<b>sole<\/b>\u00a0MATLAB user (includes office and personal machines). The new licensing structure permits your machine to run MATLAB without access to the network once you have downloaded the software and activated your license.<\/p>\n<p>Note that beginning in June 2018, all individually licensed copies of MATLAB will need to be reactivated on a yearly basis.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the BU\u2019s TAH agreement, students who recently (October 1st, 2016 or later) purchased a \u201cMATLAB Student\u201d product are eligible for a refund of their purchase. Please refer to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/cccs\/desktop\/distribution\/mathsci\/matlab\/faqs\/#refund\"><span class=\"s2\">FAQ<\/span><\/a>\u00a0for instructions.<\/p>\n<h3>Shared-use Workstations, Classrooms, and Clusters<\/h3>\n<p>For a single workstation running MATLAB used by several people, the MathWorks TAH campus license is used.
