Email that subscribers delete from the Trash (purged email) is still available for 14\u00a0days.\u00a0 Email in the Junk Email folder is automatically deleted after 30 days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What to Expect<\/h2>\n<p>This service normally will be available 24 by 7 except for standard change windows, as described in <a href=\"\/tech\/about\/service\/change\/\">IS&amp;T\u2019s standard policies, procedures, and schedules for making changes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Requirements<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have a <a href=\"\/tech\/services\/security\/iam\/authentication\/kerberos\/kerberos\/\">BU login name and Kerberos password<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Must read and agree to the <a href=\"\/tech\/about\/policies\/conditions-of-use\/\">Conditions of Use<\/a> and <a href=\"\/tech\/about\/policies\/computing-ethics\/\">Policy on Computing Ethics<\/a><\/li>\n<li>If you use a personal or mobile device to read your BU email, you must secure that device with a password and adhere to BU&#8217;s <a title=\"Minimum Security Standards\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/policies\/minimum-security-standards\/\">Minimum Security Standards<\/a>. Information on <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/infosec\/howtos\/securing-your-devices\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Securing Your Devices<\/a> is provided by the Information Security team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a id=\"GettingStarted\"><\/a>Getting Started<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Accounts for <strong>new Faculty and Staff<\/strong> will be provisioned during employment onboarding, along with the <a href=\"\/tech\/services\/security\/iam\/authentication\/kerberos\/kerberos\/\">BU login name and Kerberos password.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Everyone using a personal or mobile device to read BU email should review the security policies and information in the following documents: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/policies\/information-security-home\/data-management-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Data Management Guide<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/policies\/information-security-home\/data-protection-standards\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Data Protection Standards<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/policies\/minimum-security-standards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Minimum Security Standards<\/a>, and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/infosec\/howtos\/securing-your-devices\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Securing Your Devices<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Students who are in an academic program that requires Office 365 Outlook use will receive the information they need from their program administrator. Please submit a <a class=\"myhelp_activate\" href=\"\/tech\/contact\/\">Help<\/a> request if you need additional information or assistance.<\/li>\n<li>Non-BU affiliates who demonstrate a business need for an Exchange account can be sponsored for a <strong>Guest<\/strong> account.
