With SSL certificates, the unsecure HTTP and FTP protocols are replaced by the secure versions, HTTPS and SFTP. If your application transmits sensitive data over the Web, you may need an SSL certificate to comply with federal, state, or other regulations.<\/p>\n<h2>Benefits<\/h2>\n<p>The security of information while being transmitted across the network is increased. The likelihood of a successful man-in-the-middle attack is reduced. Use of SSL certificates increases client trust in the security of your site.<\/p>\n<h2>Key Features<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Standard SSL certificates enable use of HTTPS and SFTP, the secure versions of the web page and file transfer protocols.<\/li>\n<li>Extended Validation (EV) certificates are also available. These are even more secure that the standard certificates and provide increased visibility for web pages and web applications.
