Please select your browser below and follow the instructions provided for the particular browser feature you would like to adjust.<\/p>\n<h2>Firefox<\/h2>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Find the version you're using<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<h4>Mac<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Select <strong>Firefox<\/strong> from the menu bar and click <strong>About Firefox <\/strong> from the drop down list.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2014\/05\/abtfirefox.png\" alt=\"About Firefox Mac\" width=\"314\" height=\"92\" class=\"size-full wp-image-75732 alignnone\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Your version number will be listed next to the Firefox logo<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2014\/05\/ffversion.png\" alt=\"Firefox version number\" width=\"591\" height=\"224\" class=\"size-full wp-image-75746 alignnone\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Prevent Firefox from doing automatic updates<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>It is recommended that you set Firefox to prevent automatic updates. (If you do opt to downgrade, <strong>please open this instruction page in another browser<\/strong> so you will have the required steps available after Firefox is uninstalled).<\/p>\n<h4>Mac<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Open the <strong>Finder<\/strong> and navigate to the <strong>Applications<\/strong> folder. In the <strong>Applications<\/strong> folder, <strong>find Firefox and drag the application file to the Trash<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2014\/05\/ffapp.png\" alt=\"Firefox Application\" width=\"436\" height=\"173\" class=\"size-full wp-image-75819 alignnone\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Once Firefox is in the Trash, right click on the icon and select <strong>Empty Trash<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2014\/05\/fftrash.png\" alt=\"Empty Trash\" width=\"186\" height=\"167\" class=\"size-full wp-image-75820 alignnone\" \/><\/li>\n<li>In your alternate browser (such as Safari or Google Chrome), <strong>download the version of Firefox you want<\/strong> from the list below. Save to the Desktop, if possible, so the file will be easier to find.\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/ftp.mozilla.org\/pub\/mozilla.org\/firefox\/releases\/10.0.12esr\/mac\/en-US\/Firefox%2010.0.12esr.dmg\">Firefox 10 ESR<\/a> (OnBase)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/download.mozilla.org\/?product=firefox-24.1.0esr&amp;os=osx&amp;lang=en-US\">Firefox 24 ESR<\/a>(BUWorks)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Once the download has completed, navigate to the download location (probably either the Desktop or the \u201cDownloads\u201d folder under your user\u2019s directory) to find the file called\u00a0<strong>Firefox.dmg<\/strong> installer file.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2014\/05\/ff24dl.png\" alt=\"downloads folder\" width=\"569\" height=\"161\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-75864\" \/><\/li>\n<li><strong>Double click and open the file Firefox .dmg<\/strong> installer file, which will then mount a virtual disk of the image.<\/li>\n<li>Once the virtual disk is open, <strong>drag and drop the Firefox icon into the Applications folder<\/strong>, which will then copy the file into your local Applications folder.
