Echo360 Universal Capture: Enable instructors to record audio, computer screens, and webcam video. These recordings can be edited and saved on computers or shared online for students.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Step 1: Download and Install Echo 360<\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Log in at https:\/\/echo360.org<\/a>. If you do not have an account, request one by contacting us at ithelp@bu.edu<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. Click the Settings icon in the upper right (gear icon) and choose Downloads<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Download Echo360 Software by clicking on link for Mac\u00a0or Windows\u00a0under Universal Capture: Personal. <\/strong>*Note: For MAC users with older machines (pre-2023), select the download for “Mac Download (Intel)”.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Find the downloaded file on your computer, and double-click it. It should extract the Echo Installer in the same file location where you download Echo360 Software. If you saved the file to your desktop, the installer file will also be on the desktop.<\/li>\n

    <\/a>Step 2: Create a recording<\/h2>\n
      \n
    1. Launch Echo360 Capture<\/a>.<\/li>\n
    2. Log in<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>(if not already authenticated).<\/li>\n
    3. Select the inputs you want to capture.
      \nAudio is always required.
      \nYou can select to capture display and\/or video, two display inputs, or two video inputs besides the audio. Universal Capture will initially preselect inputs for you based on any available devices and then remember the last inputs chosen.<\/em><\/li>\n
    4. Preview the inputs on the screen, to be sure they will record properly. Check the audio meter to be sure audio is present.<\/li>\n
    5. Click the pencil icon or title to launch the Capture Details dialog box. Enter a\u00a0Title<\/strong>, add a\u00a0Description<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<\/span>Tags. <\/strong>Select a recording location under Publish to <\/strong>for the recording (default location is “Library”). Select the Quality<\/strong> of the recording to “Highest” for best results. *Note: If you are unsure of where to publish the recording, you can decide later once the recording is in your Library.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n
    6. Click\u00a0Record<\/strong>.
      \nA countdown appears after which the Universal Capture window minimizes and the capture begins. See\u00a0<\/span>      Controlling a Capture<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>for\u00a0details on additional options during a recording.<\/em><\/li>\n
    7. When you are done, click\u00a0Finish<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      The recording is completed and finishes uploading to the Echo360 server to complete processing, after which you will receive an email letting you know it is online. Universal Capture recordings are available for viewing and editing while processing.<\/span><\/p>\n
