When in Visual Mode, you see your content (headings, images, etc.) visually in the edit window. The editor itself operates similar to Microsoft Word. For example:<\/p>\n<h4>WordPress Content Editor<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-43623\" title=\"New WordPress Toolbar\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2009\/10\/New-WordPress-Toolbar1.png\" alt=\"New WordPress Toolbar\" width=\"678\" height=\"83\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/files\/2009\/10\/New-WordPress-Toolbar1.png 848w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/files\/2009\/10\/New-WordPress-Toolbar1-636x78.png 636w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 678px) 100vw, 678px\" \/><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Highlight a word and click the <strong>B<\/strong> icon to make it bold, or click the Link icon and type a URL to add a link.<\/li>\n<li>Highlight text and select a paragraph or heading style from the Format drop-down menu.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The visual editor contains many advanced options, such as a table editor and a spellchecker. Tables are best used for tabular data \u2013 lists that require several columns. Avoid using tables for content layout.<\/p>\n<p>There is also a new format option called the clearing button, pictured below.\u00a0 This button allows you to have more control over the formatting of your page. This mode also offers a limited set of basic editing buttons for applying common markup and adding links.
