Make sure you do whatever is needed to ensure that you always have multiple copies of your work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Computer Security<\/h2>\n<p>You are required to install effective anti-virus software in order to connect to the Boston University campus network. If you don&#8217;t keep your Windows computer patched and running current anti-virus and anti-spyware software, it will become infected.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Protect your PC by downloading and installing the latest\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/support\/desktop\/removal\/security\/safe-computing\/autoupdate\/\" title=\"Security and Service Packs\">Microsoft service packs and security patches<\/a>\u00a0(PCs).<\/li>\n<li>If you need anti-virus or anti-spyware software, download free\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/cccs\/desktop\/device-security\/endpoint-protection\/\" title=\"Download and Install McAfee\">endpoint protection software<\/a>\u00a0(PCs and Macs).<\/li>\n<li>Learn how to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/support\/desktop\/removal\/security\/safe-computing\/safeguard-your-computer-and-your-identity\/\" title=\"Protect your identity\">protect your identity<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>File Storage and Back-up<\/h2>\n<p>Students who create (or upload and convert) files to their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/google\">BU Google Drive space<\/a> have a 15 gigabyte storage capacity. Beyond that, people do a variety of things, ranging from external drive use to use of other cloud services.
