{"id":68232,"date":"2013-06-25T21:29:01","date_gmt":"2013-06-26T01:29:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/?page_id=68232"},"modified":"2026-01-27T11:15:56","modified_gmt":"2026-01-27T16:15:56","slug":"consulting-training","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/research\/consulting-training\/","title":{"rendered":"Research Consulting &amp; Training"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Research Computing Services\u2019 (RCS) broadly trained staff assist members of the research and education communities to accelerate the advancement of research and education.<\/p>\n<p>Scientific programming <a title=\"consultants\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/support\/research\/training-consulting\/consulting\/scientific-programming\/\">consultants<\/a> provide a range of assistance from the introductory use of the Shared Computing Cluster (SCC), the various programming tools and packages, and data management to program parallelization, performance measurement, and code tuning, numerical methods, computational techniques.<\/p>\n<p>RCS offers classroom and online <a title=\"tutorials\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/about\/training\/classroom\/rcs-tutorials\/\">tutorials<\/a> customized for the specifics of BU\u2019s installation. A live tutorial series is offered each semester covering programming languages, high-performance computing, mathematics and data analysis, statistical computing, and scientific visualization.
