The Grade Center <\/strong>for Learn Original courses is available through a number of menu items in the Control Panel<\/strong> section of your left menu. Select Full Grade Center<\/strong> to go to a complete view of your course gradebook.<\/p>\n

Add Data & Content to Grade Center<\/h3>
<\/p>\n

Add a Column<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. In the Full Grade Center<\/strong>, click Create Column<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. Enter the Column Name<\/strong>. Using a Grade Center <\/strong>Display Name<\/strong> is optional; this alternate name will replace the\u00a0Column Name in the Grade Center for the\u00a0instructor and in My Grades for the students.<\/li>\n
  3. Use the drop-down menu to select the Primary\u00a0Display <\/strong>type, which selects how the grade will be displayed\u00a0in the Grade Center and in My Grades. The\u00a0Secondary Display<\/strong> is optional and will appear in\u00a0parenthesis in the\u00a0Grade Center. However, Secondary Display is not visible to\u00a0students.<\/li>\n
  4. Choosing a Category<\/strong> is optional, but recommended\u00a0if you will be weighting grades according to type\u00a0and necessary if you would like to drop highest\/lowest grades.<\/li>\n
  5. Enter the Points Possible<\/strong> and the Due Date<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  6. In the Options<\/strong> area, choose whether you would like\u00a0to include the grade, whether the grade will be\u00a0visible to students in their My Grades, and whether you would like the\u00a0class statistics (average and median) to be visible to students in My Grades.<\/li>\n
  7. Click Submit <\/strong>to create your column.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    View a Single Student Grade<\/b><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. In the Full Grade Center<\/strong>, place your cursor over Manage<\/strong> and\u00a0select Row Visibility<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    2. Check the box beside Last Name<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    3. Deselect the student you want to view.<\/li>\n
    4. Click Hide Rows<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    5. Click Submit<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Enter a Grade<\/b><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. In the student\u2019s row and the assignment column,\u00a0click on the dash. A small box will appear.<\/li>\n
      2. Type in the student\u2019s grade.<\/li>\n
      3. Press enter<\/strong> or tab<\/strong> then confirm the change in the\u00a0grade.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Organize Grade Center (Showing\/Hiding\/Deleting Rows & Columns)<\/h3>

        Display Your Full Class<\/strong><\/p>\n

        1. In the Full Grade Center<\/strong>, select Row Visibility<\/b> from the Manage <\/strong>menu.<\/li>\n
        2. Check the box beside Last Name<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
        3. Click Show Rows<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
        4. Click Submit<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Show or Hide Rows<\/strong><\/p>\n

          1. In the\u00a0Full Grade Center<\/strong>, select\u00a0Row Visibility<\/b> from the\u00a0Manage <\/strong>menu.<\/li>\n
          2. Select the desired rows by checking the box to the left of the student names.<\/li>\n
          3. Click\u00a0Hide Rows<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
          4. To show these rows again (they will appear in grey italics if hidden), select the box next to the student name and click Show Rows<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
          5. Click\u00a0Submit <\/strong>to save your changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Show or Hide Columns<\/strong><\/p>\n

              \n
            1. In the\u00a0Full Grade Center<\/strong>, mouse-over the Manage<\/strong> button and click\u00a0the Column Organization<\/strong> option.\u00a0\"Preview<\/li>\n
            2. Check the boxes (to the left of the column names)\u00a0for the columns you would like to hide or show.<\/li>\n
            3. Place your cursor over the\u00a0Show\/Hide<\/strong> button and\u00a0select whether you would like to\u00a0Hide Selected\u00a0Columns<\/strong>,\u00a0Show Selected Columns<\/strong>, or\u00a0Show Selected\u00a0Columns\u00a0in All Grade Center Views<\/strong>.

            4. Click\u00a0Submit<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              Remove a grade center column from calculations<\/strong><\/p>\n

              You can hide a column from students’\u00a0<\/span>My Grades<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>pages while you assign grades and feedback. When you hide a column from your students, you still see it in the Grade Center grid.<\/p>\n

                \n
              1. From the Grade Center<\/strong>, access a column’s menu and select\u00a0<\/span>Edit Column Information<\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n
              2. On the\u00a0<\/span>Edit Column<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>page, navigate to the\u00a0<\/span>Options<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>section.<\/li>\n
              3. Select\u00a0<\/span>No<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>for\u00a0<\/span>Include this column in Grade Center calculations<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>Show this column to students<\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n
              4. Select\u00a0<\/span>Submit<\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                The graded work won’t appear to students on their\u00a0<\/span>My Grades<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>pages. If a student accesses the graded work from inside a content area, no grade or feedback appears.<\/p>\n

                  <\/ol>\n

                  Delete a grade center column (manually created columns only)<\/strong><\/p>\n

                    \n
                  1. PLEASE NOTE:<\/strong> Deleting a column in the grade center can NOT be undone.<\/li>\n
                  2. In the Full Grade Center<\/strong>, go to the manually created column you wish to delete and click the chevron located to the immediate right of the column name. Any grade center column tied to an assignment or quiz\/test can’t be deleted without deleting the associated assignment. Please see the steps above to hide the column if you no longer wish to view that particular column.<\/li>\n
                  3. Click the Delete Column<\/strong> option.

                  4. IMPORTANT!<\/strong> You will be presented with a warning that this deletion is final and cannot be undone. Click the OK button if you wish to proceed.

                    Modify Column Settings<\/strong><\/p>\n

                      \n
                    1. In Full Grade Center<\/strong>, click on the down-pointing chevron next to the name of the column you’d like to modify. (This can only be done with columns created by an instructor, TA, or other course builder.)<\/li>\n
                    2. Select Edit Column Information<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
                    3. Change any options you’d like for this column.<\/li>\n
                    4. Click Submit<\/strong> to save your changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                      Move Columns<\/strong><\/p>\n

                        \n
                      1. To reorganize columns, click\u00a0Column Organization<\/strong> underneath\u00a0Manage<\/strong> in the\u00a0Full Grade Center<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
                      2. Click on the column Name<\/strong> and drag the row to the\u00a0desired location.<\/li>\n
                      3. Click\u00a0Submit<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                        Rename a Grade Center Column<\/h3>

                          1. In Full Grade Center<\/strong>, click on the down-pointing chevron next to the name of the column you’d like to modify.<\/li>\n
                          2. Select Edit Column Information<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                            3. For manually created items, you can modify the Column Name<\/strong>. For automatically created items (such as those created by other applications), you can change the Grade Center Name<\/strong>\"Preview<\/a><\/p>\n

                            4. Click Submit<\/strong> to save your changes.<\/p>\n
