If you are on the latest version of Firefox, select the option listed above for updating Firefox (FRC), which is version 29 and above.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open up your Firefox web browser<\/li>\n<li>Click the orange <strong>Firefox<\/strong> icon in the upper left-hand corner of your browser window.<br \/>\n<img class=\"screenshots\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2012\/01\/firefox4_plus_1.gif\" alt=\"Firefox 4 and above\">\n<\/li>\n<li>Mouse-over <strong>Help ><\/strong> and then click on <strong>About Firefox<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<img class=\"screenshots\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2012\/01\/firefox4_plus_2.gif\" alt=\"Firefox 4 and above\"><\/li>\n<li>You will see a small window showing your browser&#8217;s version number and if updates are available a <strong>Check for Upates<\/strong> button. The upgrade to IE9 and above is not available to Windows XP computers, which are <a href=\"http:\/\/windows.microsoft.com\/en-US\/windows\/end-support-help\" target=\"_blank\">no longer supported by Microsoft<\/a>. Additionally, you may need to restart your computer after installing the updates, so save all work prior to beginning the update process.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open your Internet Explorer web browser.<\/li>\n<li>In the web address bar at the top, put in <a href=\"http:\/\/update.microsoft.com\">http:\/\/update.microsoft.com<\/a> and press the Enter key on your keyboard.<br \/>\n<img class=\"screenshots\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2011\/12\/iexp1.gif\" alt=\"Internet Explorer\"><\/li>\n<li>You will see a Microsoft page with two installation options, <strong>Express<\/strong> and <strong>Custom<\/strong>. The Express method is recommended to ensure that you receive all necessary updates. The Custom option will show all available updates. You can always run the updates process a second time and choose the Custom option to see additional update options.<br \/>\n<img class=\"screenshots\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2011\/12\/iexp2.gif\" alt=\"Windows Updates\"><\/li>\n<li>After selecting the Express option, you&#8217;ll see the window below as Microsoft checks for updates that your computer needs.<br \/>\n<img class=\"screenshots\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2011\/12\/iexp3.gif\" alt=\"Windows Updates\"><\/li>\n<li>When the scan is complete, you&#8217;ll see the list of the available high-priority updates for your computer.
