The Windows User Account Control security feature may appear asking for permission to continue. If it does, click the &quot;Continue&quot; button, or &quot;Change Settings&quot;.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"screenshots\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2009\/10\/vista-firewall1.jpg\" alt=\"vista-firewall\" width=\"280\" height=\"108\" \/><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2012\/05\/Windows7Firewall.png\" alt=\"Windows7Firewall\" title=\"Windows7Firewall\" width=\"483\" height=\"52\" class=\"screenshots\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Click on the <strong>Add port&#8230;<\/strong> button.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"screenshots\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2009\/12\/winVista-firewall-ports.gif\" alt=\"vista-firewall-exceptions\" width=\"444\" height=\"519\" \/><\/li>\n<li>In the &#8220;Name:&#8221; text box type <strong>Learn<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the &#8220;Port number&#8221; text box type<strong> 1935<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"screenshots\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2009\/10\/vista-firewall-addport1.jpg\" alt=\"vista-firewall-addport\" width=\"412\" height=\"314\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Make sure the <strong>TCP<\/strong> radio button is checked.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>OK<\/strong> to save your changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- Windows 8 --><\/p>\n<div id=\"win8\">\n<h4>Windows 8.1<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Click the Windows key on your keyboard or the Windows icon in the bottom left-hand corner of your Desktop app to be brought to the Windows 8 start screen.<\/li>\n<li>Type <strong>Firewall<\/strong>. You&#8217;ll see a search box appear, being filled in with what you are typing.<\/li>\n<li>Click the <strong>Windows Firewall<\/strong> icon that you see in the search results list.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"screenshots\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2014\/05\/Win8SearchFirewall.png\" width=\"365\" height=\"382\">\n<\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;ll be brought into your Desktop and the Firewall section of the Control Panel.<\/li>\n<li>Click the <strong>Advanced settings<\/strong> link, located on the left-hand side of the Control Panel window.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"screenshots\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2014\/05\/Win8Firewall1.png\" width=\"640\" height=\"471\"><\/li>\n<li>First, click the <strong>Inbound Rules<\/strong> link in the left frame of the window. Second, click the <strong>New Rules&#8230;<\/strong> link within the frame on the right side of the window.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"screenshots\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2014\/05\/Win8Firewall2.png\" width=\"672\" height=\"516\"><\/li>\n<li>This will open up the <strong>New Inbound Rule Wizard<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select the <strong>Port<\/strong> radio button and then click the <strong>Next ><\/strong> button.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"screenshots\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2014\/05\/Win8Firewall3.png\" width=\"728\" height=\"588\"><\/li>\n<li>Select the <strong>TCP<\/strong> and <strong>Specific local ports:<\/strong> radio buttons.<\/li>\n<li>In the text box on this screen put in <strong>1935<\/strong> for the port number. Then click the <strong>Next ><\/strong> button.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"screenshots\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2014\/05\/Win8Firewall4.png\" width=\"728\" height=\"588\"><\/li>\n<li>Select the <strong>Allow the connection<\/strong> radio button and click the <strong>Next ><\/strong> button.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"screenshots\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2014\/05\/Win8Firewall5.png\" width=\"728\" height=\"588\"><\/li>\n<li>Select the profile(s), <strong>Domain<\/strong>, <strong>Private<\/strong>, <strong>Public<\/strong>, that apply to you. If you are attempting to access videos from your work location, please contact your company&#8217;s IT department to allow TCP Port 1935 through the corporate Firewall.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"screenshots\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2014\/05\/Win8Firewall6.png\" width=\"728\" height=\"588\"><\/li>\n<li>Put in a name and optionally, a description that will help you remember the reason for changing this port.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"screenshots\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2014\/05\/Win8Firewall7.png\" width=\"728\" height=\"588\">\n<\/li>\n<li>Click the <strong>Finish<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<li>You will be brought back to the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security window where you&#8217;ll see the new rule you created in the right frame. From here you can disable or delete this rule.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"screenshots\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2014\/05\/Win8Firewall8.png\" width=\"672\" height=\"516\"><\/li>\n<li>Close the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security window.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- END div id=win8 --><br \/>\n<!-- Other Firewalls --><\/p>\n<div id=\"other\">\n<h4>Other Firewalls<\/h4>\n<p>If you are using a firewall that is not part of the native Windows  operating system you may not be able to immediately access Blackboard Learn. You should look for pop-ups from your firewall asking if you want to allow Blackboard Learn access to your computer.
