{"id":46639,"date":"2011-06-23T11:15:59","date_gmt":"2011-06-23T15:15:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/?page_id=46639"},"modified":"2023-05-04T11:22:01","modified_gmt":"2023-05-04T15:22:01","slug":"requirements","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/admin\/fin-hr-proc\/requirements\/","title":{"rendered":"Browser &amp; System Requirements for BUworks"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Browser Recommendations<\/h4>\n<p>For maintaining stability and security with BUworks, the following browsers are recommended (please check compatibility with other applications you use):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/chrome\/\">Google Chrome<\/a> (latest version)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/firefox\/organizations\/faq\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Firefox ESR<\/a> * Latest Extended Support Release<\/li>\n<li>Safari and Microsoft Edge may work for your BUworks tasks but are not currently part of BUworks testing protocols.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul><\/ul>\n<h4>System Recommendations<\/h4>\n<p>The recommended system configurations for use with BUworks are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Windows 7 through 10<\/li>\n<li>Mac OS X 10.10 through OS X 10.13<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note that faculty and staff are eligible to run the most current and complete version of Windows on BU-owned machines, as outlined by the <a href=\"\/tech\/desktop\/site-licensed-software\/microsoft\/download-facultystaff-only\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Microsoft Enterprise Agreement<\/a>. Windows is not available for personally-owned machines. Mac OS X is available through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sourcing\/wdyn\/computers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sourcing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Troubleshooting<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Make sure you have reviewed the <strong>Browser and System Requirements<\/strong> outlined above.<\/li>\n<li><strong>If you use Microsoft Edge<\/strong>, check the version of Java on your computer and update if necessary. Note: Firefox and Chrome no longer use Java in conjunction with SAP.\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.java.com\/en\/download\/installed.jsp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Visit the Java test page.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>A box should appear saying, &#8220;Your Java is working.&#8221; If it does not, please use the <strong>Get Help <\/strong>icon at the top of this page to submit a request for assistance.<\/li>\n<li>Check the line titled <strong>Version. <\/strong>Your computer should be configured with the latest version (<strong>Java SE 8 Update\u00a0161 as of this writing)<\/strong>.
