Among other benefits, the agreement provides eligible employees with rights to use the most current and capable versions of Microsoft Windows and Office Suites on BU-owned PCs and Macs (Windows only for Intel-based Macs).<\/p>\n<p>Volume licensing reduces overhead and expense, improves service and support, bolsters security, and fosters license compliance. See <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/support\/desktop\/distribution\/microsoft\/benefits\/\">Benefits<\/a> for details.<\/p>\n<h3>Features<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Full and part-time faculty and staff are eligible to use the most current and complete versions of Microsoft Windows and Office on institutional PCs and Macs, with most eligible software available by <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/support\/desktop\/distribution\/microsoft\/download-facultystaff-only\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">download<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Currently enrolled students are eligible to download the most up-to-date version of Microsoft Office at no cost from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/studentoffice\">www.bu.edu\/tech\/studentoffice<\/a><\/li>\n<li>BU students, faculty, staff, alumni, and affiliates may also have licensed access to other BU-based Microsoft services such as SharePoint and Exchange.<\/li>\n<li>Full and part-time faculty and staff also have access to web-based training through <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/about\/training\/online\/microsoft\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Microsoft E-learning<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/support\/desktop\/distribution\/microsoft\/coverage\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MS Agreement Coverage Overview<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/support\/desktop\/distribution\/microsoft\/benefits\/\">Benefits<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/support\/desktop\/distribution\/microsoft\/conditions\/\">Conditions of Use<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/support\/desktop\/distribution\/microsoft\/faq\/\">FAQ<\/a> provide additional information on licensed software and benefits to various constituents.
