Use this code when you want a file to be viewed only by students registered for your class. Visitors will be prompted to give their BU login name and Kerberos password when they try to view files restricted in this way.<\/p>\n
The code itself is made up of several components, formulated in the following manner.<\/p>\n
The first two digits<\/strong> refer to the academic year. Academic years always span calendar years and are expressed like this: the 2009-2010 academic year. The “academic year” always begins with Summer Session 1. The class code abbreviation uses the second of the two calendar years that are spanned by the academic year.<\/span> Therefore, for a class taught in summer session 1 in 2009, the class code would start with “10.” For a class taught fall semester in 2008, the class code would start with “09.”<\/p>\n The third digit<\/strong> refers to the session or semester. The next 3 letters<\/strong> are the college abbreviation. The next 2 letters<\/strong> are the department abbreviation. The next 3 digits<\/strong> refer to the course number. The final 2 digits<\/strong> refer to the section number.
