Specialized applications only available on Windows can be used seamlessly on other platforms, including Macs or mobile devices.<\/p>\n<h2>Key Features<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Access <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/cccs\/desktop\/computer-labs\/common\/software\/\">common or specialized software<\/a> from anywhere, at any time, by installing only one application\n<ul>\n<li>At home, both individual applications and a full desktop experience are available<\/li>\n<li>In labs, a full desktop experience is available<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Connect to a full library of software without consuming resources on your personal device<\/li>\n<li>Connect to files on your local computer using Microsoft Remote Desktop Folder Redirection<\/li>\n<li>Available at a variety of on-campus locations, typically in libraries with access to printing, research and information resources, and support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What to Expect<\/h2>\n<p>BU Common uses Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop.
