BU Faculty may request storage allocations through this service for the purposes of storing or sharing research data. The instructions below assume that you have access to a Globus Shared Collection through this service.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#connecting\">Connecting to the Shared Data Collection<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#managing\">Managing access to Shared Data Collection<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#faq\">Frequently Asked Questions<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"connecting\"><\/a>Connecting to the Shared Data Collection<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Login to <a href=\"https:\/\/app.globus.org\/\">Globus<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Select the <b>FILE MANAGER <\/b>from the left sidebar and search for your Collection name.\n<div class=\"highlight-yellow\">In this example, we use <i>Boston University &#8211; IS&amp;T RCS<\/i> to illustrate the steps. By leaving this field as <code><strong>\/<\/strong><\/code>, the new collaborator will have access to the entire collection. Alternatively, you can select a folder using the <b>Browse<\/b> button to limit access to only that folder <code>[1]<\/code>.<\/li>\n<li>In the <b>Username or Email<\/b> field, enter the email address or GlobusID of the new collaborator. For example the e\u0301 and i\u0302 characters are represented with 2 bytes.<\/li>\n<li>What is the maximum pathname length?<br \/>\nThe maximum pathname on a Shared Data Collection is 4096 bytes.
