This collection is available to all BU community members that use Google Drive account.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#authenticate\">Authenticate to Google Drive<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#manage\">Manage your Google Drive files in Globus<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#faq\">Service Limitations and Frequently Asked Questions<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"authenticate\"><\/a>Authenticate to Google Drive<\/h2>\n<p>Before using the Boston University Google Drive Collection, you must first authorize your Globus account to access your Google Drive. The steps in this section will guide you through that process.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Login to <a href=\"https:\/\/app.globus.org\/\">Globus<\/a><\/li>\n<li>On the left-side menu, select <b>FILE MANAGER<\/b>. In the <b>Collection<\/b> field at the top, search for <strong>Boston University Google Drive Collection<\/strong> <code>[1]<\/code>. Select the search result collection <code>[2]<\/code>.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2024\/05\/screen1_arrow.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"504\" class=\"size-full wp-image-152346\" \/><\/li>\n<li>You\u2019ll be brought back to the File Manager window. The first time you select this collection for transfer, you will need to provide authentication\/consent. Alternatively, you can click this directly link to the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/app.globus.org\/file-manager\/collections\/3b59906d-27ec-46c7-b571-e65a4f7f6273\/overview\">Boston University Google Drive Collection<\/a>&#8221; and select the &#8220;Open in File Manager&#8221; button.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"faq\"><\/a>Service Limitations and Frequently Asked Questions<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"dupfiles\"><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"highlight-yellow\"><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h2 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><strong>Duplicate file &amp; folder names in Google Drive<\/strong><\/h2><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><span>Google Drive permits the use of the same file or folder names in the same location. This causes conflicts on storage systems such as the Globus Storage Service. To circumvent this, enable the <b>Skip files on source with errors<\/b> under the <b>Transfer &amp; Timer Options<\/b> dialog menu.
