Cloud recording is not available in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/cccs\/conf\/online\/zoom\/zoom-hipaa\/\">Zoom Meetings for HIPAA<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The recommended platform for storing and sharing instructional video and recording is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/teaching\/instructional-video\/my-media\/\">BU My Media<\/a>. However, in situations where you need to provide access to your recorded class session as quickly as possible, instructors can share their recordings from Zoom directly, provided they meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A recording-specific passcode must be set and shared only with enrolled students<\/li>\n<li>Viewers must not be able to download the recording<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more information, please see Digital Learning &amp; Innovation&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/digital.bu.edu\/lfa-classroom-recordings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Classroom Recording guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"highlight-yellow\">Faculty teaching class sections that include one or more students with documented reasonable accommodations by the BU Office of Disability &amp; Access Services that require closed captioning, <em>must<\/em> upload and share their recordings on BU MyMedia <em>only<\/em>, and must request that captioning be made available. For further instructions, please refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/cccs\/conf\/online\/zoom\/getting-started\/managing-recordings\/downloading-cloud-recordings\/\">Downloading Cloud Recordings<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/teaching\/instructional-video\/my-media\/getting-started\/my-media-faqs\/mymedia-captions-transcripts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Using Captions and Transcripts in My Media<\/a>.<\/div>\n<p><a name=\"security\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Recording Security<\/h2>\n<p>By default, your cloud recordings will be protected with an individual recording passcode and downloads disallowed, as per the requirements outlined above. Disabling this will make the recording private.<\/td>\n<td>Selecting &#8220;Only authenticated users may view&#8221; may cause unexpected errors for viewers using an alternate environment like Zoom for HIPAA. Recording authentication is less forgiving than meeting authentication; use it with caution.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>Add expiry date to the link<\/th>\n<td>Specify a time in the future when the link will expire for viewers.<\/td>\n<td>At this time, it is only possible to have one expiration date for all recording links.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>Viewers can download<\/th>\n<td>Allow viewers to download the meeting recording to their computer.<\/td>\n<td>This must remain disabled for instructional recordings as noted above.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>On-demand (Registration Required)<\/th>\n<td>Require viewers to provide a name and email prior to viewing the recording.<\/td>\n<td>Registrants and viewers can be reported on by viewing a recording&#8217;s analytics report.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>Passcode protection<\/th>\n<td>Show and edit the passcode required for viewing the recording.<\/td>\n<td>A passcode must be set on your recording as noted above. Passcodes may include letters, numbers, and symbols.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>To review a recording&#8217;s security settings:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/bostonu.zoom.us\/signin\">Log in<\/a> to Zoom Meetings using your BU Login.<\/li>\n<li>Click the &#8220;Recordings&#8221; link, located on the sidebar to the left of the page.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2020\/03\/zoom-sidebar-recordings_highlighted.png\" alt=\"Zoom web interface personal section, recordings highlighted\" class=\" wp-image-126112 aligncenter\" width=\"198\" height=\"190\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Locate the recording you wish to share in the list and click &#8220;Share\u2026.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a name=\"lti\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Sharing Recordings with Zoom for Blackboard<\/h2>\n<p>Instructors using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/cccs\/conf\/online\/zoom\/getting-started\/adding-to-blackboard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zoom for Blackboard integration<\/a> can publish recordings with one click:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Enter your Blackboard course and navigate to the Zoom Meetings tool.<\/li>\n<li>Click the &#8220;Cloud Recordings&#8221; tab. A list of your course&#8217;s cloud recordings is shown.\n<ul>\n<li>Don&#8217;t see your recording? It may still be processing. Recording passcodes will automatically copy to their clipboard when they open a recording.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"manual\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Sharing Recordings Manually<\/h2>\n<p>If you are not using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/cccs\/conf\/online\/zoom\/getting-started\/adding-to-blackboard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zoom for Blackboard integration<\/a>, you can still publish your recordings manually.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/bostonu.zoom.us\/signin\">Log in<\/a> to Zoom Meetings using your BU Login.<\/li>\n<li>Click the &#8220;Recordings&#8221; link, located on the sidebar to the left of the page.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2020\/03\/zoom-sidebar-recordings_highlighted.png\" alt=\"Zoom web interface personal section, recordings highlighted\" class=\" wp-image-126112 aligncenter\" width=\"198\" height=\"190\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Locate the recording you wish to share in the list and click &#8220;Share\u2026.&#8221;\n<ul>\n<li>Viewers can download: <strong>Disabled<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Password protection: <strong>Enabled<\/strong> with an alphanumeric password set in the field that appears.
