Unlike traditional online meetings, Zoom Webinars can give the hosts and presenters peace of mind by restricting the attendee interface. Attendees can only access modules a host authorizes and cannot enable disruptive features, such as their own microphone or camera, leaving the focus on the presenter. Marketing departments can leverage registration workflows and post-event actions to better understand their attendees, how they learned about or accessed the webinar, and gather feedback about their experience. Because Zoom Webinars is a component of Zoom, hosts can leverage features included with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/cccs\/conf\/online\/zoom\/\">Zoom Meetings<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Key Features<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Restrict presentation capabilities to designated hosts and panelists<\/li>\n<li>Pre-webinar rehearsal and practice space for hosts and panelists<\/li>\n<li>Optional or required attendee registration<\/li>\n<li>Q&amp;A module featuring comments, upvoting, approval processes, and optional anonymity<\/li>\n<li>Collect feedback from attendees using post-webinar surveys<\/li>\n<li>Easily create recurring webinars using templates<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What to Expect<\/h2>\n<p>Zoom Webinars is a cloud hosted solution, for which Zoom promises 99.9% uptime. See the <a href=\"https:\/\/status.zoom.us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zoom Status<\/a> portal for current service status and past incidents.<\/p>\n<h2>Requirements<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be an active faculty or staff member with a valid BU login or a department with a service account.<\/li>\n<li>The Zoom Client is available for Windows, macOS, and many Linux distributions. Detailed requirements can be found on <a href=\"https:\/\/support.zoom.us\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/201362023-System-Requirements-for-PC-Mac-and-Linux\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zoom&#8217;s System Requirements page<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>At minimum, presenters should have access to:\n<ul>\n<li>A broadband internet connection<\/li>\n<li>A headset with a microphone\n<ul>\n<li>Earbuds or similar in-ear style headphones with an inline microphone are not recommended. It is better to use a headset with a dedicated microphone to ensure high audio recording quality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a name=\"cost\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Cost<\/h2>\n<p>Zoom Webinars is licensed per-host and tiered based on the maximum number of attendees in a webinar. To request an add-on license on a monthly basis, please complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/cccs\/conf\/online\/zoom\/zoom-monthly-add-on-request\/?type=Webinar\">monthly add-on request form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Requests will be reviewed and approved based on license availability.
