This will send an email notification to the RM with the content of your note.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2018\/04\/Resource-Request-notes-636x58.png\" alt=\"Resource Request notes\" width=\"636\" height=\"58\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-113912\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/files\/2018\/04\/Resource-Request-notes-636x58.png 636w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/files\/2018\/04\/Resource-Request-notes-768x70.png 768w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/files\/2018\/04\/Resource-Request-notes-1024x93.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/files\/2018\/04\/Resource-Request-notes.png 1578w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 636px) 100vw, 636px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s always a good idea to follow up your note with a brief conversation with the Resource Manager.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<br \/>\n<span><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h1 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Increasing overall Resource Request<\/h1><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>If you need to increase your requested allocations across the board, or extend the date the resource will be needed, add a note in the Resource Plan for the Resource Manager. The Resource Manager may update the allocations from the Resource Plan form or Resource Workbench. The Resource Manager may shift or extend the allocations using the \u2018Extend Resource Plan\u2019 button on the Resource form or by using the Resource Workbench \u2018Move Resource Plan\u2019 or \u2018Extend Resource Plan\u2019 3 dot Actions. The Resource Manager may cancel the existing plan and create a new one.<\/p>\n<p><span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<span><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h1 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Re-planning Resource Plan<\/h1><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The resource manager can make changes to the plan and allocations on the project manager\u2019s behalf. If you prefer to, or need to re work the entire plan the approach will be different based on the state of the plan, see below.<\/p>\n<h2>Make a change prior to the request being allocated<\/h2>\n<p>Prior to the Resource Plan being allocated, that is in a \u201cRequested\u201d or \u201cConfirmed\u201d state, add Notes to the resource request and let the resource manager know the changes you want to make.\u00a0 You can also cancel this request and create a new one.<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h2>Make a change after the request has been allocated, and before the start date<\/h2>\n<p>If the resource plan has been allocated and the start date is in the future you can ask the Resource Manager to cancel the plan. Once the resource manager cancels the plan the plan will be in a canceled state. The PM should then select \u201cRe-plan\u201d in the top right-hand menu.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/tech\/files\/2018\/04\/Re-plan-button-636x81.png\" alt=\"Re-plan button\" width=\"636\" height=\"81\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-113933\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/files\/2018\/04\/Re-plan-button-636x81.png 636w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/files\/2018\/04\/Re-plan-button.png 654w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 636px) 100vw, 636px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This will move the plan back to the \u201cPlanning\u201d stage. You can then make adjustments to the plan and then resubmit the plan to the resource manager.<\/p>\n<h2>Make a change after the request has been allocated, and after the start date<\/h2>\n<p>After the start date of the plan is in the past you will need to ask the Resource Manager to cancel the plan. Once the resource manager cancels the plan the plan will be in a canceled state. You can then make a copy of the plan by clicking the \u201cCopy Resource Plan\u201d under the related links.
