technical issues with installing or running Adobe Creative Cloud, we recommend that you work with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/about\/help-center\/hours\/\">the IT Help Center<\/a>.\u00a0 The ITHC can assist you with creating space on your hard drive or upgrading your current computer.<\/p>\n<p>If you need a new computer, we can help with that as well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Personally owned computers: <\/strong>As a current student, faculty, or staff member, you can leverage your educational affiliation to receive discounts through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/support\/purchase\/personal\/shop\/\">the Lenovo Laptop Purchase Program<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/buapple\">the Apple BU Store for Education<\/a>.\u00a0 Purchases through the Lenovo Laptop Purchase Program even support student scholarships!<\/p>\n<p><strong>BU owned computers: <\/strong>It is best to work with your local IT support or Desktop Services staff member when choosing a new computer.\u00a0 We&#8217;ll help you choose a machine that will support all of your computing needs.\u00a0 Submit a ticket to start the conversation with your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/support\/other\/\">IT Partner<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/help\/desktop\">Desktop Services<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Submitting an Internal Service Request (ISR), and licensing terms for departmental purchases. <\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ISR&#8217;s can be placed by departmental administrators and staff who have the Procurement tab in BUworks.<\/li>\n<li>ISR&#8217;s should be submitted to provider <em>IS&amp;T &#8211; IT Help Center<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Boston University&#8217;s Creative Cloud Enterprise Agreement runs from May 1 to April 30. Licenses will remain active until the April renewal period. Cost is not prorated regardless of when within the agreement period you make your purchase. You will be prompted to renew your subscription each April for $75.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Why is the coverage period of my paid license less than a full year? Is the cost prorated?<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>When requesting a $75 paid license, what you are essentially doing is getting access to the license up until the university-wide renewal date of May 1st. All the licenses are tied to that date, when the contract with Adobe is renewed and the university &#8220;true-ups&#8221; our licenses.<\/p>\n<p>The result is that the initial $75 payment might not grant a full 12 months of access, depending on when during the coverage period of May 1 through April 30 the license is purchased. Unfortunately Adobe does not prorate the cost of these licenses. They cost BU $75 regardless of when during the coverage period they are purchased.<\/p>\n<p>Of course renewals will cover the full 12 months. All renewals and new subscription purchases will expire at the same time, May 1st. Starting each March we will open the renewal process and notify clients with information on how to renew their licenses. Once this renewal period is opened, any new subscriptions (in other words, not a renewal) will be covered to May 1st of the following year.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">What are my options as staff taking a class?.<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>Staff (and faculty in a non-BU Hub school) enrolled in eligible courses are entitled to university sponsored licenses of Creative Cloud, the same as students.<\/p>\n<p>Your license is assigned only for the duration of the course. At the completion of the course the license will expire.<\/p>\n<p>Per the Adobe contract, these student licenses cannot be installed on to university assets. They are for personal use only. If you are staff looking for dual departmental\/student use you must purchase a departmental license. You may install it on both your work computer and your personal system.<\/p>\n<p>Staff looking for a student license should place your request once class has begun, and should select &#8220;student&#8221; from the list of options.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">How does Adobe Creative Cloud storage work?<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>Please refer to this <a href=\"https:\/\/helpx.adobe.com\/creative-cloud\/kb\/file-storage-quota.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Adobe support article<\/a>.<br \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">How many computers can install Creative Cloud on?<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>Your Creative Cloud license lets you install your apps on more than one computer, activate (sign-in) on two, but use them on only one computer at a time.<\/p>\n<p>If signing into an additional (third) computer, Adobe will ask which other computer you wish to deactivate.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Can I transfer my license to a new computer?<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\">\n<p>Adobe allows you to have two active sign-ins, but you can only use the apps on one computer at a time.<\/p>\n<p>You can transfer your license to a new computer at any time. Simply deactivate the software on your old system by opening the Desktop App and selecting &#8220;Sign out&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>If you do not have access to the old computer, do the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Sign in at\u00a0<b><a disablelinktracking=\"false\" href=\"https:\/\/account.adobe.com\/activated-devices\" target=\"_blank\" daa-level=\"4\" daa-lh=\"6\" daa-ll=\"https:\/\/account.adobe.com\/activated-devices\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/account.adobe.com\/activated-devices<\/a><\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Under <span class=\"uicontrol\">Activated devices<\/span> section, select\u00a0<span class=\"uicontrol\">Deactivate<\/span> to deactivate the device.<br \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Can I use Firefly with my Adobe Creative Cloud license?<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>Your Creative Cloud license includes the Firefly Standard plan which allows you to &#8220;generate images, edit existing photos, apply artistic styles, create social media content, flyers, and more using text descriptions.&#8221; Firefly is embedded in several Creative Cloud applications, and can also be used at <a href=\"https:\/\/firefly.adobe.com\/\">firefly.adobe.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Your Creative Cloud license is granted 1,000 monthly generative credits, which are used for firefly actions. See <a href=\"https:\/\/helpx.adobe.com\/firefly\/get-set-up\/learn-the-basics\/generative-credits-faq.html\">this Adobe help page<\/a> for more details.<\/p>\n<p>Firefly premium plans (including video and audio actions) are not currently offered by BU.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">What are my training options?<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>There are numerous online training videos and documentation to help you make the most of the Adobe Creative Cloud suite.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/helpx.adobe.com\/\">Adobe&#8217;s Support Site<\/a> for help and directions on Creative Cloud. What happens to my Adobe account?<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><br \/>\nOnce you leave the University, you will no longer have access to the products included in Adobe Creative Cloud. Before you leave, be sure to make a local backup of any files you have stored in Adobe Creative Cloud Files. Licenses will be active until that date or you cease to be eligible due to status change, whichever comes first. If you no longer meet the criteria for a University-sponsored license, your license may be removed.<\/p>\n<p>If you continue to be eligible for a license after the listed expiration date in your welcome email you may submit a request to have the license renewed at that time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Exception<\/strong>: paid licenses are active from May 1 to April 30 annually. Cost is not prorated regardless of when within the agreement period you make your purchase. If a paid license is not renewed by April 30 each year it will be removed. Licenses are paid for by University departments via Internal Service Requests. Departments may request their licenses be reassigned.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">How long does Adobe retain my files?.<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>Once your license has expired Adobe will delete your directory on their server after a brief grace period. This grace period will generally be 6 months, but the actual time frame will be determined by Adobe at their discretion.<\/p>\n<p>If before this grace period ends you require access to the directory in order to retrieve your files we can restore your account for a brief period so you can back the files up.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Once deleted by Adobe this directory and the files it contains are non-recoverable. Adobe Portfolio sites will also be deleted.<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">I am graduating. As soon-to-be-graduates, you can migrate your Creative Cloud assets from school-assigned accounts to new <a href=\"https:\/\/helpx.adobe.com\/creative-cloud\/help\/benefits-creative-cloud-free-membership.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Creative Cloud free membership accounts<\/a>.\n\nWith just a few clicks, you\u2019ll be able to have ongoing access to your assets, including work such as Adobe Photoshop images and Illustrator graphics, Adobe Spark pages, Adobe Portfolio websites and your Behance profiles. By migrating your assets, you\u2019ll be able to showcase your work to future employers long after graduation.\n\nTake the steps outlined here so you can take your assets with you, <a href=\"https:\/\/graduation.adobe.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>graduation.adobe.com<\/em><\/a>.\n\nAnd to access a special Creative Cloud offer* visit, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adobe.com\/creativecloud\/renew\/resubscribe-ste-graduation-promo.html?trackingid=XXTQH1V4&amp;mv=email\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>adobe.com\/graduation<\/em><\/a>.\n*Offer currently available only in North America. Additional countries coming soon.\n\nImportant things to know:\n\n\n<ul>\n \t\n\n<li>Do not run the migration tool until you are finished using your University sponsored account. This file transfer cannot be reversed.<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>You will need to create a new Adobe ID personal account. You will not be able to use a pre-existing personal account, due to file size restrictions.<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Your new Creative Cloud free membership account will offer 2 GB of file storage. If you have more than 2 GB's of files in your current BU sponsored school account cloud storage, all those files <em>will<\/em> transfer over to the new account and <em>will<\/em> be accessible to you, but you will not be able to add any new files.<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>The following assets will <strong><em>not<\/em><\/strong> migrate, and must be transferred or backed up manually.\n\n\n<ul>\n \t\n\n<li>Lightroom photos<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Videos published from Mobile apps.<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Adobe Fonts<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Adobe Sign<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Adobe Color<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Activity feed<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Adobe Stock<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Adobe Anywhere<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Adobe Fill &amp; Sign user profile data<\/li>\n\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<\/li>\n\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n--><\/p>\n<p><em>It is not possible to transfer or backup an Adobe Portfolio site or the the digital assets within it. Please retain copies of these files on your computer or personal cloud storage, such as Google Drive, OneDrive, or Box.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> file backup and transfer is only possible before your graduation. Immediately upon graduation you will lose access to your Adobe Creative Cloud apps and files stored the Adobe directory associated with your Company or School Account.<br \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<h3>Troubleshooting<\/h3>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">My software says it is a trial version, and I'm being prompted to enter payment information.<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>In order to start using your software you must be signed into your BU <strong><em>Company or School Account<\/em><\/strong>. If your software is listed as a trial version, or you are being prompted to enter payment information, you have incorrectly signed in to a <strong><em>Personal Account<\/em><\/strong>. [<strong>IMPORTANT:<\/strong> it is possible to create an Adobe ID using your BU email address, but this does not connect the Personal Account to your BU subscription.] Please open Creative Cloud to sign out of your Adobe ID and sign back in again with your BU school account.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To sign out of your Adobe ID:<\/strong><br \/>\nOpen the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Application<br \/>\nSelect the account icon in the top right<br \/>\nClick Sign Out<\/p>\n<p><strong>Additional steps for signing out:<\/strong><br \/>\nSign out of Adobe.com in your web browser.
