Multiple platforms are available including Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive for Business in Office365, and Dropbox.\u00a0 Cloud File Storage is designed for an individual\u2019s storage need, not for departmental storage. Departmental storage is best served via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/infrastructure\/storage-backup\/network-file-storage\/\">Network File Storage<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/cccs\/collaboration\/sharepoint\/\">Microsoft SharePoint Online<\/a> in Office 365.<\/p>\n<h2>Benefits<\/h2>\n<p>Leveraging cloud-based file storage allows access to your files from anywhere.\u00a0 Mobile apps are available for iOS and Android in addition to desktop sync applications.\u00a0 Files may also be accessed through a web browser.\u00a0 All of your data is safely and securely stored in the cloud in multiple locations.\u00a0 You can easily share your files with other students, faculty, and staff on campus, as well as external collaborators.<\/p>\n<h2>Key Features<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Access files via Windows, Mac OS, Linux, iOS, or Android<\/li>\n<li>Leverage (optional) sync programs to have a copy of files both on your device and in the cloud<\/li>\n<li>Share files quickly and easily<\/li>\n<li>The service(s) is hosted at secure, off-site locations at highly available data centers.<\/li>\n<li>Store large amounts of data (1TB +plus, depending on configuration)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What to Expect<\/h2>\n<p>This service normally will be available 24 by 7 except for standard change windows, as described in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/about\/service\/change\/\">IS&amp;T\u2019s standard policies, procedures, and schedules for making changes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Requirements<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Must use an updated version of one of the major four browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari<\/li>\n<li>BU One Drive is approved for all <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/policies\/data-classification-policy\/\">data types<\/a> except <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/researchsupport\/compliance\/export-control\/\">ITAR<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>BU Google Drive is approved for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/policies\/data-classification-policy\/#confidential\">Confidential <\/a>data, but not\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/policies\/data-classification-policy\/#restricteduse\">Restricted Use<\/a>\u00a0data.<\/li>\n<li>BU Dropbox is approved for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/policies\/data-classification-policy\/#confidential\">Confidential <\/a>data and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/policies\/data-classification-policy\/#restricteduse\">Restricted Use<\/a> data, but not <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/hipaa\/\">HIPAA <\/a>or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/researchsupport\/compliance\/export-control\/\">ITAR<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a id=\"GettingStarted\"><\/a>Getting Started<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Not sure which option to use?
