If you have a BU Google Apps account<\/a>\u00a0and wish\u00a0to change your display name – the name seen by recipients of your emails – the following steps will allow you update this information in Google Mail:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Sign in to Google Mail at\u00a0<\/span>https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/google<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. Enter your BU login<\/strong> (your BU email address without the @bu.edu) and Kerberos password.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Click\u00a0the gear icon,\u00a0<\/strong>then the See All Settings <\/strong>option in the right corner of the screen.

  4. Click the Accounts tab<\/strong> in the top section of the Settings\u00a0page.

  5. In the “Send mail as” section, click edit info<\/strong>.

  6. An “Edit email address” pop-up window will open. Click on the second radio button under the \u201cName\u201d field<\/strong> and add\u00a0<\/span>the name you wish to display when sending messages.

  7. Click on Save Changes<\/strong>. \u00a0Once your changes have been saved, sent emails will display your updated name.
