bu-linuxBU Linux 6 is installed via the campus network; we currently do not provide an entirely CD-based installation process. However, you will need to have a boot CD containing the initial install program, which you can create as described below.

  1. Download either Neo 64-bit systems or Neo 32-bit systems (server/desktop version based on CentOS 6).
  2. Make an install CD yourself by downloading the image and using your CD-writing software’s “burn from ISO image” or “create from disc image” feature. Don’t just put the file on the disc.
  3. Boot your system from that install CD and follow the on-screen instructions. If you need more help, check out the step-by-step guide created by LinuxMoz.
    If you wish to use the GUI installation, choose a different installation option such as “Desktop.” With this option, you’ll be prompted to do your own customization of included software packages.
