BU Linux 6 is installed via the campus network; we currently do not provide an entirely CD-based installation process. However, you will need to have a boot CD containing the initial install program, which you can create as described below.
- Download either Neo 64-bit systems or Neo 32-bit systems (server/desktop version based on CentOS 6).
- Make an install CD yourself by downloading the image and using your CD-writing software’s “burn from ISO image” or “create from disc image” feature. Don’t just put the file on the disc.
- Boot your system from that install CD and follow the on-screen instructions. If you need more help, check out the step-by-step guide created by LinuxMoz.
If you wish to use the GUI installation, choose a different installation option such as “Desktop.” With this option, you’ll be prompted to do your own customization of included software packages.
