Description of Impact

A power outage occurred on the Medical Campus, which knocked a main networking distribution switch offline.

Incident Description and Resolution

IS&T teams were able to divert power to the main distribution switch and then onsite personnel tracked down remaining offline switches and remediated them.

Additional Information

The cause of this incident was determined to be a power outage performed to test a generator. If you continue to have issues, please contact the IT Help Center.

Description of Impact

The Medical Campus (BUMC) is currently experiencing a partial power outage, which has caused an outage of wired and wireless networking . Clients in impacted service areas will not have access to network connectivity.

Current Status

BUMC Networking was able to divert power to a main network distribution switch, but some areas on the Medical Campus may still be experiencing both a power and network outage. IS&T teams are onsite and investigating. Currently, it is known that some network switches are down in: 80 E Concord 72 E Concord 780 Harrison IS&T teams are onsite and attempting to remediate.
