A “locked” phone, whether it uses a physical SIM or eSIM, is tied to one carrier (like Verizon), while an “unlocked” device allows swapping between carriers by installing different SIMs or eSIMs.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n If your current phone is not “unlocked”, consider bringing an older out of contract mobile with you to Sydney. Alternatively, some students have been able to pay to get their device “unlocked”, but waiting periods may apply, so start this process early!<\/p>\n <\/strong>A wireless signal is available for students throughout BUSAC.
