The many <span>Certified Green Restaurant\u00ae <\/span>locations at BU make it easy to dine sustainably. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/dining\/sustainability\/\">Learn more.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Plant-forward diets:\u00a0<\/strong>BU Dining Service&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/dining\/sustainability\/climate-friendly\/\">Climate-Friendly Dining<\/a> icon helps you easily identify and incorporate low-carbon foods into your daily life (fun fact: this initiative was developed in collaboration with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sustainability\/projects\/sustainability-innovation-seed-grant\/\">Sustainability Innovation Seed Grant<\/a> team). You might decide you like it so much that you opt for a plant-forward diet. Eating a vegan diet for two-thirds of meals could cut food-related carbon emissions by more than half.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Go organic: <\/strong>According to USDA data, organic foods have fewer pesticide residues than conventionally grown produce.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reusables:<\/strong> Bring a kit of reusable utensils, a cloth napkin, and a reusable beverage container to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/dining\/sustainability\/waste-reduction-diversion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span>reduce waste<\/span><\/a>, and you&#8217;ll be ready for any delicious options that come your way.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tap water: <\/strong>Fill up a reusable beverage container at water bottle filling stations throughout campus to reduce your plastic consumption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reduce food waste:<\/strong> Take small amounts of foods you&#8217;re not sure about and want to try. Got leftovers? Save it for a future meal or snack.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Divert food waste: <\/strong>Put food scraps (banana peels, apple cores, etc.) and compostable diningware into the food waste bin instead of trash. Check signage to make sure the items are acceptable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recycle:<\/strong> Recycle your empty plastic cups, clean plastic and metal food containers, clean metal cans, and clean glass bottles.
