Walk/Ride Day

Boston University participates in Green Streets Initiative’s annual Walk/Ride Day Corporate Challenge. It’s a way to raise awareness about commuting options and perhaps try out a different way to get to campus than your normal routine.

The competition runs April through October and encourages employees and students to choose sustainable commuting options on the last Friday of each month. When you get to campus on Walk/Ride Day (or any day that week), simply check-in on the Green Streets Initiative website by choosing your team and logging your commute, regardless of your commuting choice.

Get Rewarded

Participants have chances to get rewarded. Upon check-in you will receive information about discounts at participating retail locations.  A leaderboard of the participating organizations with the highest number of check-ins is updated in real-time. Just for checking-in you will be entered in the monthly raffle to win prizes such as restaurant gift cards, movie tickets, and even a trip to Martha’s Vineyard.

Regardless of how you get to campus on a Walk/Ride Day, we encourage you to check-in and engage with friends, colleagues, and community members about how they are commuting. So, mark your calendars for the last Friday of every month.
