During the internship, he lived on-site with the other park service employees.  His duties as Natural Resource Management intern also included: monitoring the wildlife population (with a specific focus on the prairie dog colony and the prairie falcon nesting sites), maintaining the various scientific equipment around the park (including the NOAA weather station, the river’s water quality monitor, and the various groundwater recorders scattered around the park), and participating in the park’s Search and Rescue chapter.

Bonnell plans to graduate in fall 2010 with a joint BA/MA in Envionmental Analysis and Policy (BA) and Energy and Environmental Analysis (MA). In his spare time Bonnell bikes whenever he can and recycles almost everything.
