If you are new to teaching at the University, here are several steps for you to take to get started:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your course assignment letter will be sent in the spring. Please sign and return it to the Summer Term office.<\/li>\n<li>If you have not done so already, please complete a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/summer\/files\/2022\/02\/BU-Summer-Term-New-Hire-Form-2022.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Summer Term New Faculty Personnel Record<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>You will receive an email from Human Resources summarizing the new hire process.<\/li>\n<li>Complete Section 1 of your I-9 paperwork online at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.formi9.com\/formi9verify\/Integration\/BostonUniversity\/BostonUniversitySectionOne.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BU I-9 site<\/a>. Section 2 of your I-9 paperwork should be completed at the Human Resources office. Human Resources is located at 25 Buick Street, around the corner from 881 Commonwealth Ave. Bring identification with you; a list of acceptable documentation is located here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/i-9-central\/acceptable-documents\/acceptable-documents\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/i-9-central\/acceptable-documents\/acceptable-documents<\/a>. You must complete this process by the third day of the summer session in which you are teaching.<\/li>\n<li>As part of this process, you will receive a BU Login, Kerberos password, and BU email account. Once you have these, you will be able to access <a href=\"https:\/\/mybustudent.bu.edu\/\">MyBU<\/a>. This will give you access to your class list, student email addresses, grade sheets, and other faculty resources.<\/li>\n<li>If you are international, you need to check-in at the ISSO office at 888 Commonwealth Ave, 2nd floor. ISSO can be reached by email at <a href=\"mailto:isso@bu.edu\">isso@bu.edu<\/a>, or by phone at 617-353-3565.<\/li>\n<li>The Human Resources office will give you directions for signing up to direct deposit your paycheck. It is expected that summer faculty will use the direct deposit system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once these steps are completed, you should be all ready for your summer teaching.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to Boston University Summer Term.
