Housing and Dining

Summer Term students are welcome to live on campus at Boston University. Life on campus provides a unique opportunity for camaraderie and community as students dine, study, and enjoy their time together.

Students interested in summer on-campus housing should make arrangements directly through BU Housing. Summer 2016 housing details will be available on December 15. Applications for summer housing will be accepted beginning in early March. You may email housing@bu.edu with any questions.

Types of Housing

On-campus accommodations are available in both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned dormitory-style and apartment-style residences. Air-conditioned dormitory-style rooms are located in Kilachand Hall, 91 Bay State Road. All rooms are multiple occupancy suites. Air-conditioned apartments are located in Student Village II, 33 Harry Agganis Way. All apartments have four single occupancy bedrooms, kitchen, bath and living room. Rooms and apartments vary in size and design; residence rates are assessed on a per person basis and vary according to the type of accommodation. Students are not allowed to bring their own air conditioners into the residences.

Rooms in dormitory-style and apartment-style residences contain a dresser, a desk, a mattress, a bed frame, and a chair for each student. Students must provide their own linens, including extra-long twin bed sheets (beds are 80 inches long). Apartment-style residences are also furnished and equipped with kitchen and bathroom facilities; apartment residents must provide their own kitchen utensils, cleaning items, and bathroom supplies.

Dining Plans

Several retail dining locations are open throughout the summer for your dining pleasure. Students assigned to dormitory-style residences must choose one of the three summer dining plans available. Students assigned to apartment-style residences or living off campus have the option to purchase a dining plan or Convenience Points Plan. If you select this option, you must complete an Optional Dining Plan Agreement for one of the three dining plans offered or a Convenience Points Plan Agreement (a points-only plan, in increments of $25). Optional Dining Plan and Convenience Points Plan Agreements are available during the summer at the Terrier Card Office; payment is required at the time of purchase.
