Withdrawal Deadlines

Absence from class or non-payment do not constitute an official withdrawal or dropped course. If your plans change and you are unable to attend a course for which you have registered, you must officially drop/withdraw from the class. Failure to do so within the schedule of dates for that course will result in your being held responsible for all tuition and fees associated with the course(s) in question.

Students can drop/withdraw from summer courses on the Student Link until the add/drop deadline. You can also complete a Summer Add/Drop Form and mail, email, fax, or deliver the form to:

*Standard courses are courses that start and end on the official dates of a six week summer session: Summer 1 or Summer 2. Nonstandard courses have a class meeting schedule that differs from an official six week session. Add/drop dates for non-standard courses are individually determined, and can be found next to the course on the Student Link or summer description.

Tuition Credit Schedule, 2017

Session 1 (6-week courses)
Before May 24 100% credit on tuition, Student Service fee, and laboratory fees
From May 24 to May 30 100% credit on tuition only
As of May 31 No credit on tuition and fees
Session 2 (6-week courses)
Before July 5 100% credit on tuition, Student Service fee, and laboratory fees
From July 5 to July 10 100% credit on tuition only
As of July 11 No credit on tuition and fees
12-week Courses
Before May 24 100% credit on tuition, Student Service fee, and laboratory fees
From May 24 to June 5 100% credit on tuition only
As of June 6 No credit on tuition and fees

Credit Balance

A credit balance on your account may be refunded by request. Students with access to the Student Link can make a request to refund an existing credit balance by clicking "Request a Refund" from Student Account inquiry. Students who do not have access to the Student Link may make a request in writing by email to studenta@bu.edu or by sending a letter to:
