Simple Ways to Improve Your Wellbeing

Wellbeing doesn’t have to be complicated.

Think about activities that make you feel good! They may be calming or energizing, but they make you feel well either way. Then, work those activities into your days.

If you are looking for inspiration, here are some ideas and wellness goals (generated by BU students!) to help you support your wellbeing on a day-to-day basis:

Take your coffee outside

Enjoy your drink of choice at BU Beach, Talbot Green, or another spot near you.

Try journaling

Write down (or talk-to-text) how you’re feeling today.

Hang out with friends

Grab food, explore someplace new, or plan a virtual game or movie night.

Try a mindfulness exercise

Download Headspace for free and try exercises for sleep, anxiety, productivity, and more.

Do something nice for someone

Doing something thoughtful for others boosts our own feelings of wellbeing.

Turn off your alarms or enjoy a long nap.

Cook something delicious

Try a new recipe, or whip up an old favorite. BU’s Sargent Choice Nutrition Center has hundreds of healthy recipes to choose from.

Go for a walk

Solo or with others! In Boston? Consider the Esplanade.

Look for the good today

Write down or say out loud three things you’re grateful for today.

Reconnect with someone

Reach out to that person you haven’t talked to in a while.

Work out at FitRec or Fitness at Fenway

If you’re on campus, go for a swim, climb, or a walk at FitRec or Fitness at Fenway. There’re so many different things you can do there!
