What do I need to do next?<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Update your roster and officer positions on TerrierCentral and any social media outlets or websites you maintain.<\/li>\n<li>If your elections occurred in the late spring semester, don&#8217;t forget to re-register your organization with the new officers in positions and be sure to add a start and end date.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Who can serve as an advisor and\/or chaperone for my organization?<\/h4>\n<p>There are criteria <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/studentactivities\/your-group\/advisors\/for-advisors\/\">advisors<\/a> must agree to meet, but any exempt Boston University faculty or staff member is eligible to be your group\u2019s advisor and\/or chaperone.<\/p>\n<h4>What do posters for my group\u2019s events need to include?<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Your organization\u2019s name<\/li>\n<li>The date, time, and location of your event<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Boston University,&#8221; spelled out in full, no abbreviations<\/li>\n<li>Optionally, your group\u2019s BU email, website, or social media info. You <strong>may not<\/strong> include anyone\u2019s personal contact information or website.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Read more about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/studentactivities\/your-group\/plan-events\/promotions-publicity\/\">promoting your group\u2019s activities<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>What happens to my weekly meeting reservation on a holiday or a switch day?<\/h4>\n<p>If it is a holiday Monday and the University is closed, your weekly meeting can still occur if your booking is in CAS, the GSU, or the Sargent Activities Center. \u00a0All other buildings are typically closed on long weekends. Please note, technology support may be unavailable on University holidays.<\/p>\n<p>On switch days (when Monday classes are held on a Wednesday for example) your reservation does not transfer. \u00a0Monday recurring bookings are cancelled. \u00a0Wednesday recurring meetings are also cancelled. \u00a0You may request a one time meeting on the switch day via TerrierCentral. \u00a0Make sure you do so well in advance to ensure you can secure an appropriate space.<\/p>\n<p>To double check what days are holidays and switch days check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/reg\/dates\/official-academic-calendar\/\">Registrar&#8217;s calender<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>How do I maintain my organization?<\/h4>\n<p>You\u2019ll need to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/studentactivities\/your-group\/group-benefits\/reregistration-recognition\/\">re-register<\/a> each year. Re-registration for groups to remain active for the coming academic year will occur in the spring semester. \u00a0For example, groups intending to remain active for 2018-9 must re-register in spring 2018. \u00a0The re-registration process takes place on TerrierCentral.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How do I start a new student organization?
