{"id":51241,"date":"2022-12-19T10:24:58","date_gmt":"2022-12-19T15:24:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sth\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=51241"},"modified":"2026-05-15T17:22:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-15T21:22:08","slug":"debbie-brubaker","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sth\/profile\/debbie-brubaker\/","title":{"rendered":"Debbie Brubaker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Debbie Brubaker is the Director of Online Programs and Theological Learning Innovation at the Boston University School of Theology and oversees the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sth\/academics\/degree-programs\/doctor-of-ministry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Doctor of Ministry<\/a> degree in Transformational Leadership as well as the newest online program, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sth\/academics\/degree-programs\/master-of-arts-in-religion-and-public-leadership-marpl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Master of Arts in Religion and Public Leadership<\/a>.<\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Dr. Brubaker holds a PhD in Religion from Vanderbilt University. She is a 2026-2027 Barbara Wheeler Fellow with Auburn Theological Seminary and was previously a fellow with Vanderbilt\u2019s Theology and Practice Program, the Public Theology and Racial Justice Collaborative, and a Mellon Graduate Fellow for the Digital Humanities. She holds a Master of Divinity from Boston University School of Theology.<\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In addition to her work in educational technologies and online pedagogy for theological education, her current research uses methods from cultural anthropology, digital humanities, and constructive Christian theology to assess how white Christian churches develop responses to anti-Black racism.
