Mary Elizabeth Moore is Professor Emerita of Theology and Education and Dean Emerita of the School of Theology, Boston University. Her passion is to journey with others to build compassionate and prophetic communities, and a more just, peaceful, and sustainable world. She feels privileged to work toward those ends with colleagues in Boston University and around the world, especially in the practices of nurturing spirit, building justice, resisting violence, struggling against oppression, and caring for the earth. Her books include: Teaching as a Sacramental Act<\/em>; Covenant and Call<\/em>; Ministering with the Earth<\/em>; Teaching from the Heart: Theology and Educational Method<\/em>; Called to Serve: The United Methodist Diaconate<\/em> (co-authored); and Education for Continuity and Change<\/em>; plus four edited and co-edited volumes, Deep Understanding for Divisive Times: Essays Marking a Decade of the Journal of Interreligious Studies<\/em>; A Living Tradition: Critical Recovery of the Wesleyan Heritage<\/em>; Children, Youth, and Spirituality in a Troubling World<\/em>; and Practical Theology and Hermeneutics<\/em>. She has engaged actively in justice work in the church and in intercultural, interreligious relationship-building in local, professional, and academic settings. She is presently working on a teaching project in interreligious leadership, alongside research projects to produce a book of poetry and meditations and a monograph on sacrality and revolution.<\/span><\/p>\n
