Working with the Director of Development and Stewardship, the Development Associate will be involved with all major aspects of development and will make a significant contribution to meeting organizational fundraising goals. The Development Associate will assist with departmental projects and initiatives such as online giving campaigns, grant proposal\/report writing, donor cultivation, meetings, events, and other opportunities for donor engagement. This position will provide administrative support and maintains the donor database.<\/p>\n<p>This position reports to the Director of Development and Stewardship. Flexibility to accommodate work during evenings and weekends when warranted is an important requirement for this role.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Database Management and Gift Processing<br \/>\n\u2022 Maintain the accuracy of data and financial records in the eTapestry donor database<br \/>\n\u2022 Process and enter gifts in the database as they arrive, and send acknowledgements to supporters for gifts received<br \/>\n\u2022 Provide input to finance for monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations and audits<br \/>\n\u2022 Enter and update donor information, input contacts and solicitor activity into database, and track and report on prospects, donors, donations, and appeals<br \/>\n\u2022 Monitor online giving vehicles (e.g., YourCause and various Donor Advised Funds)<br \/>\n\u2022 Research and identify prospective foundation funders, major donors, and corporate sponsors; follow fundraising-related news, research, trends, and best practices.<br \/>\n\u2022 Draft donor correspondence, including solicitation and acknowledgment letters, as needed and manage the timely acknowledgement of all contributions.<\/p>\n<p>Event Support<br \/>\n\u2022 Work closely with the Director of Development and Stewardship to support execution of events. Related activities include keeping event deadlines, identifying and working with venues and external vendors, creation of mailing lists, mailing invitations and other information, creation of online forms, management of attendees, timely correspondence with constituents, and event-day logistics.<br \/>\n\u2022 Support, attend and participate in program and departmental events.<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage event volunteers<\/p>\n<p>Grants &amp; Grants Management<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage the grants process, tracking system and calendar<br \/>\n\u2022 Write and edit grants and reports for institutional donors<br \/>\n\u2022 Research new funding opportunities; Identify lapsed and prospective institutional funders<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage and maintain grant files to ensure all grant-related correspondence, guidelines, and requirements are documented in the database, as well as in other files.<\/p>\n<p>Administrative Responsibilities<br \/>\n\u2022 Help prepare and maintain Development Office budget<br \/>\n\u2022 Draft, edit, and proofread communications and documentation<br \/>\n\u2022 Maintain donor files and prospect materials and information<br \/>\n\u2022 Execute all department mailings; coordinate written, printed and electronic segmented appeals<br \/>\n\u2022 Coordinate and participate in development team meetings and required trainings<br \/>\n\u2022 Support the design and creation of printed and online materials<br \/>\n\u2022 Work effectively with vendors, including off\u00acsite designers and printers and mail houses<br \/>\n\u2022 Other miscellaneous duties, such as but not limited to maintaining and ordering supplies and gifts, reconciling credit card bills and receipts, and producing and distributing meeting minutes<br \/>\n\u2022 Support the Development Director in carrying out the regular duties of the development department.<br \/>\n\u2022 Other projects as assigned to help meet City Mission development and growth goals each year<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications, Experience, and Attributes<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Minimum of two years\u2019 relevant work experience.<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience with eTapestry database management and Blackbaud platform strongly preferred.<br \/>\n\u2022 Keen attention to detail and high-quality output<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously<br \/>\n\u2022 Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills<br \/>\n\u2022 Undaunted by a high-paced, deadline-driven environment<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to work independently, proactively, and collaboratively<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong belief in City Mission\u2019s work and mission<br \/>\n\u2022 Commitment to diversity and respect for differences in race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, ability, and socio-economic background.<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong computer knowledge and skills (Google Drive, Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel; Blackbaud, Greater Giving or other database experience) and a willingness to learn more<br \/>\n\u2022 High level of discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive and confidential information<br \/>\n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree or equivalent experience required<br \/>\n\u2022 Desire to learn about all aspects of non-profit fundraising<\/p>\n<p><strong>Salary and Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a full-time position.\u202fAnnual salary range is $55,000 &#8211; $60,000. Compensation is based on the overall number of years of experience as well as relevant experience to the position.
