A Mission Hub is a collaboration of three or more Episcopal churches in a strategic location whose aim is to develop and enhance sustainable initiatives that embody God\u2019s mission. PGC is a unique ecumenical and multicultural partnership spearheaded by a Founding Board from Lutheran, Presbyterian and Episcopal churches. Our starting goal is to strengthen Brazilian immigrant families and their connection with their communities centered in Framingham and Marlborough, Massachusetts, and to enhance spiritual transformation within and between the Hub partner communities. Major programs include an existing Nucleo for Brazilian- American children to learn Portuguese and ESOL programs for Brazilian adults. A Nucleo is a group of young learners studying Brazilian Portuguese with support and instruction from a group of trained teachers.<br \/>\nPosition<br \/>\nReporting to the Executive Director, the Program Director will be responsible for developing Portuguese language leaning for children and for developing adult ESOL programs.<br \/>\nProgram Director Responsibilities:<br \/>\nProgram Management &#8211; Children and Youth<br \/>\n\u2022 Launch N\u00facleo in Marlborough and strengthen existing program Framingham<br \/>\n\u2022 Maintain or develop Parent Councils (Conselhos de Pais) for both N\u00facleos.<br \/>\n\u2022 Recruit and supervise N\u00facleo coordinator<br \/>\n\u2022 Identify and procure training from the Movimento Educacionista dos Estados Unidos for the N\u00facleo teachers<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage day-to-day pedagogical coordination<br \/>\n\u2022 Support and supervise N\u00facleo volunteers<br \/>\nProgram Management &#8211; Adults<br \/>\n\u2022 Develop and launch ESOL programs in Marlborough and Framingham<br \/>\n\u2022 Identify and retain a Master ESOL Teacher for pedagogical quality control<br \/>\n\u2022 Identify and secure training from Literacy Unlimited for a cadre of ESOL volunteers<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage day-to-day coordination, support and supervision of ESOL volunteers<br \/>\n\u2022 Staff and manage the child care these programs will share<br \/>\n\u2022 Staff, schedule and publicize community workshops<br \/>\nLeadership and Administration<br \/>\n\u2022 Ensure appropriate CORI and Safe Church practices for all ministries<br \/>\n\u2022 Assist the Executive Director and Board to develop additional ministries.<br \/>\nDesired Qualifications<br \/>\n\u2022 Bachelors Degree (or foreign equivalent) in a related field<br \/>\n\u2022 Fluency in Brazilian Portuguese and English<br \/>\n\u2022 Minimum of three years nonprofit experience<br \/>\n\u2022 Demonstrated leadership skills, including significant interaction with volunteers<br \/>\n\u2022 Comfortable working in a faith-based nonprofit<br \/>\n\u2022 A desire to help bridge cultural differences and facilitate relationships between Brazilian and Americans and strong commitment to the PGC mission<br \/>\n\u2022 Desire\/ability to grow in learning in the position and help develop organizational capacity during the start up period<br \/>\n\u2022 Flexible attitude and ability to manage organizational ambiguity<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong organizational skills and the ability to work with direction and independently<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to work weekends and evenings<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to pass a CORI\/background check<br \/>\nThis position is an exempt position of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts and receives fringe benefits including paid vacation, health\/dental insurance and pension.
