Uses social media and other means to build ongoing relationships with Hispanic\/Latino congregations and members that help inform the development of content and resources.\u00a0 Provides support to the director by developing relationships and building a strong constituent base. Solicits or initiates user-generated content from the Hispanic UMC community. Develops resources and other communications that directly address needs in Hispanic\/Latino congregations and communities. Facilitates translation support to the agency and external constituents as needed.<br \/>\n<b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Requirements:<\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The job requires a college degree in journalism or communications or at least five years\u2019 equivalent experience in a communications-related field, such as journalism, marketing or advertising.<b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<li>The position requires someone who is creative, energetic and highly motivated.<b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<li>Experience working with a variety of media platforms, including social media, Internet and other digital media as well as print and video formats is needed. Broadcast experience is a plus. <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, newsletter design and layout is also needed.\u00a0 <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<li>Must have strong interpersonal relationship and networking skills.<b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<li>This position requires administrative abilities and skills to appropriately plan and execute projects within budgetary guidelines.\u00a0 <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated Spanish and English-language skills are required; proficiency in Portuguese would be a plus.<b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of and experience with The United Methodist Church is preferred.\u00a0 <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<li>A comprehensive knowledge and experience with the Hispanic\/Latino United Methodist constituency are needed.
