Advising<\/p>

<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs assigns all Faculty Advisors to students based on the student\u2019s academic and vocational aspirations and denominational ties while taking into account also overall faculty advising load, sabbatical leaves, and other factors. Students can view their current Faculty Advisor on their MyBU Student Dashboard.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Students can request an alternative Faculty Advisor though the General Petition Form<\/a>.<\/p>\n

STM and PhD students need their Faculty Advisor\u2019s approval to register each semester.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

MDiv, MTS, and MSM students must meet regularly with their Faculty Advisor for guidance, but they do not need their Faculty Advisor’s approval to register each semester. Instead, MDiv, MTS, and MSM students are assigned a Degree Program Advisor.\u00a0 A Degree Program Advisor is an administrator at STH specifically trained to advise students on degree requirements, course selection, and plans of study. MDiv, MTS, and MSM students are required to meet with a Degree Program Advisor for approval to register each semester.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Assessment<\/p>

<\/strong><\/p>\n

The purpose of the assessment is to evaluate a student\u2019s progress in achieving the learning outcomes stated for the degree program.<\/span><\/p>\n

MDiv Assessment Information<\/b><\/h3>\n

Master of Divinity students participate in several assessment opportunities throughout their degree program, the most significant of which is the Mid-Degree Conversation in the fourth term. The following outlines the assessment requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n
