The New Student Checklist below will take you through these steps one-by-one. Make sure you complete all of these steps before Welcome Week, and be in touch with the Admissions Office if you have any questions along the way.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Admissions Office<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"mailto:sthadmis@bu.edu\">sthadmis@bu.edu<\/a><br \/>\n617-353-3036<\/p>\n<h2>New Student Checklist<\/h2>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><p class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Submit your Admissions Deposit &amp; Confirm Your Intent to Enroll<\/p><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>The first step to becoming an entering student is paying your admissions deposit and declaring your intent to enroll. To do so, follow the link sent to you by email the day you received the email with your letter of acceptance. You can <span>accept your offer of admission through that link. You may also pay your admissions deposit through the applicant portal. If you are unable to find these original emails, reach out to the Admissions Office at <a href=\"mailto:sthadmis@bu.edu\">sthadmis@bu.edu<\/a> for next steps. Once you have electronically accepted your offer of admission and paid your STH admissions deposit, you will move in our system from an \u201capplicant\u201d to an \u201centering student.\u201d This will allow you to begin the steps listed in the checklist below.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> The Admissions Deposit will be credited to your account when you matriculate and will cover the STH Community Fee during the first year of your program at STH.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><p class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Get a BU Email Address<\/p><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>Email is the primary mode of communication with students at Boston Univeristy. It is important that incoming students establish a BU email address and check their new inbox regularly. Soon after your admission is processed, you will receive an email from the BU IT department that includes instructions on how to enroll in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/cccs\/email\/google-mail\/welcome\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University\u2019s <span>\u201c<\/span>BU Google Apps<\/a><span>.\u201d You may also visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/myaccount\">www.bu.edu\/myaccount<\/a> and follow the on screen instructions to claim your BU account.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>BU student email is powered by Gmail (Google Mail). You will need your BU ID (your 9 digit ID number that begins with \u201cU\u201d) to establish your BU email address and kerberos password. This can be found in your applicant portal, or you can reach out to <a href=\"mailto:sthadmis@bu.edu\">sthadmis@bu.edu<\/a> and we will send it to you. \u00a0Once you have established a BU email address and Kerberos password, you will have access to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/mybu\/\">MyBU Student <\/a><\/span><span>and other University resources. (MyBU Student is Boston University&#8217;s student self-service portal and will contain your official account and registration information.)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><p class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Submit your I-20 Documents (International Students Only)<\/p><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All international applicants must provide documentation to be considered by the United States government for a Student Visa. Those items include:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>The International Student Data Form\u00a0&#8211; This form includes basic information about you and your family, your country of origin and visa history, your previous academic institutions, and your financial declaration.<\/li>\n<li>Copies of Previous Visa Documents &#8211; You will need to provide scanned copies of your passport and previous immigration documents for you and any family members accompanying you to the U.S. on your student visa.<\/li>\n<li>Financial Sponsorship Documents &#8211; As an international student you must show the U.S. government that you have adequate funding for your tuition, fees, and living expenses to attend Boston University. Boston University&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/isso\/\">International Students and Scholars Office<\/a>\u00a0(ISSO) has a helpful\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/isso\/getting-started\/documents-procedures\/requiredfinancialdocumentation\/expenses-crc\/\">Estimate of Expenses for BU\u2019s Charles River Campus<\/a>, showing the total amount one must have in sponsorship to obtain a US visa for study. Financial sponsorship can come from one&#8217;s own personal funds or from an external sponsor. Again, please see\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/isso\/getting-started\/documents-procedures\/\">ISSO\u2019s website <\/a>to complete the required financial documentation.\n<ul>\n<li>International applicants should be aware that the U.S. Government restricts the number of hours students can work while studying in the United States. These restrictions mean that securing external financial sponsorship is often crucial for international students to live comfortably in the beautiful and historic, but expensive, city of Boston. Learn more about the U.S. Government&#8217;s restrictions on international student work opportunities\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/studyinthestates.dhs.gov\/students\/work\/working-in-the-united-states\">here<\/a>\u00a0and about opportunities for on-campus work for international students at Boston University\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/isso\/employment-internships\/on-campus-student-employment\/\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><p class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Complete All Your Financial Aid Materials<\/p><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p><span>If you were awarded financial aid by the School of Theology, you must complete the STH Financial Aid Application each year to claim your award. All students will complete their financial aid documentation as part of your preregistration form when registering for classes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Anyone applying for federal aid (federal unsubsidized loans or federal work-study funding) must also provide the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\" title=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FAFSA<\/a><span> (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Please see the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sth\/academics\/tuition-financial-aid\/\" title=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sth\/academics\/tuition-financial-aid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">STH Financial Aid page<\/a><span> for an overview of the financial aid process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><p class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Submit Official Final Transcripts to the STH Admissions Office<\/p><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>You were admitted to the School of Theology on the basis of the academic work you completed at previous schools and colleges. You uploaded unofficial electronic copies of these transcripts to your online application. Now that you are an entering student, we need final, official copies of each transcript in your academic past. These become part of your permanent file here at the School of Theology. If you have received any academic credit from an institution<span>, including study abroad or transfer credits, we need to have an official transcript on file for that work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>We consider a transcript \u201cofficial\u201d if it is sent directly from your previous institution\u2019s Registrar\u2019s Office to the School of Theology&#8217;s Admissions Office.<\/strong><span> \u201cFinal\u201d transcripts are ones that show a final GPA and graduation\/completion date. If the School of Theology does not receive all of your official, final transcripts, you will be unable to register for classes in future terms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Please note: transcripts directly uploaded by an applicant into the admissions system are not considered official. Even if the document itself is an official copy of an applicant&#8217;s transcript, because the applicant themself has handled the document it cannot be considered official. The housing market in Boston moves very quickly. However, the <a href=\"https:\/\/offcampus.bu.edu\">BU Off-Campus Housing Office<\/a> and the STH Admissions Office can help resource you with names of realtors, descriptions of properties where STH students have lived successfully in the past, and information about STH&#8217;s community housing partners. See the <a href=\"\/sth\/admissions\/housing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">housing section<\/a><span> of this website for more information. Be diligent in your search, but rest assured that each year the entire entering class finds housing in which to live, and you will, too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><p class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Make Plans to Attend Welcome Week Events<\/p><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>The first week of classes each fall is considered \u201cWelcome Week\u201d and includes a wide variety of social, spiritual, and academic offerings. These help acclimate and orient new students to the STH community. Please make plans to attend as many Welcome Week events as you can! Though optional, these gatherings will help connect you with the STH community. You will receive a listing of all Welcome Week events sometime in August prior to the start of fall classes in September.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><p class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Choose Your Health Insurance Option<\/p><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>Every student enrolled in a degree program at BU must have health insurance. This is Massachusetts state law and a university policy. The university assumes that all students plan to opt into the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/studentaccountingservices\/resources\/student-health-insurance-at-boston-university\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">university\u2019s Student Health Insurance Program<\/a><span> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/shs\/insurance\/\">SHIP<\/a>) and will charge your student account during the fall term for a year\u2019s worth of health insurance coverage unless you tell them not to do so. If you would prefer not to use the university\u2019s health insurance plan, you may complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/shs\/insurance\/enroll-waive-or-change-coverage\/\">Student Health Insurance (SHIP) Waiver Form<\/a> (available in MyBU Student<\/span><span>), stating that you have alternative medical insurance. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><p class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Complete Your Medical History and Physical Report<\/p><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>BU requires that all incoming students complete the University\u2019s \u201cImmunization and Physical Form\u201d before starting classes. Please see the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/shs\/getting-started\/incoming-health-requirements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BU Health Services Website<\/a><span> to find and complete this form and to learn more about the resources available for your health and wellness through the University&#8217;s <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/shs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span>Student Health Services Office<\/span><\/a><span>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>All immunization requirements and paperwork must be sent directly to Student Health Services. If you have questions about any requirements, contact <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/shs\/hours-offices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Student Health Services<\/a> directly. For more information about health requirements and healthcare services at BU visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/chiefhealthoffice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BU&#8217;s Chief Health Office<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><p class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Begin Working with BU's Office of Disability Services<\/p><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p><em>(Optional)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The purpose of BU\u2019s Disability &amp; Access Services is to provide services and support to ensure students are able to access and participate in all opportunities available at Boston University. In keeping with this objective, students are expected and encouraged to utilize the resources of Disability &amp; Access Services to the degree they determine necessary. Although a significant degree of independence is expected of students, Disability &amp; Access Services is available to assist, should the need arise. Review the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/disability\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Office of Disability Services<\/a><span> (ODS) website and note which services could be of help to you. When you are ready, complete the ODS &#8220;Request for Accommodation Form&#8221; and make an intake appointment with the staff of that office by calling 617-353-3658 or by emailing <a href=\"mailto:access@bu.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">access@bu.edu<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><p class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">(Optional) Petition for Academic Advanced Standing<\/p><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>(Only optional for MDiv or MTS students with previous religious studies coursework)<\/p>\n<p>If you are an incoming MDiv or MTS student who has completed significant coursework in Hebrew Bible (Old Testament), New Testament, Church History, or Theology, you may apply for Advanced Standing in those disciplines and with reference to four Intro Courses (Hebrew Bible, New Testament, Intro to Christian Traditions, and Christianity Engaging Modernity). Advanced Standing means that, instead of taking one of those four introductory-level classes, you could take an advanced course at the School of Theology instead. For example, instead of \u201cIntro to New Testament\u201d you could choose to take \u201cGospel of John.\u201d Please note: this does not reduce the number of unit hours you must take in your program, but rather allows you to customize your curriculum toward more advanced coursework. The advanced course, moreover, must be taken at the School of Theology (not through the BTI or by transfer).<\/p>\n<p>Advanced Standing is only granted when the coursework previously taken is sufficiently rigorous, employing critical scholarship in the relevant discipline. The course grade on the transcript must be a B or above. To petition for Advanced Standing, you must complete a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sth\/student-log-in\/academic-forms-and-petitions\/general-petition-form\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">General Petition Form<\/a>, selecting \u201cAdvanced Standing\u201d as the type of petition. (Please note: you will need your BU email address and kerberos password to complete this form.)<span> (1) You must stipulate explicitly the course or courses in which you are requesting advanced standing and (2) attach the syllabi of all the coursework you have completed in a discipline. (3) You must also provide the transcripts from all relevant prior coursework. Your syllabi and transcripts will be reviewed by the Registrar and Academic Dean, and a decision will be communicated to you prior to registration for your first term. Any questions about Advanced Standing should be addressed to the <\/span><a href=\"mailto:sthregfa@bu.edu\"><span>School of Theology&#8217;s Registrar&#8217;s Office<\/span><\/a><span>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><p class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Register for Classes<\/p><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>Once you have paid your admissions deposit and been confirmed as an entering student, you will receive an email from the School of Theology&#8217;s Office of Registration &amp; Financial Aid (ORFA) guiding you through the steps to register for your first semester of classes at STH. <strong>This email is sent approximately mid-July for those matriculating in the fall.<\/strong> (Spring matriculating students will typically register in early December.)<\/p>\n<p>When registering for your first semester, you will work directly with the STH Office of Registration &amp; Financial Aid.<\/p>\n<p>Academic advisors are assigned during the opening weeks of your first semester, and in future semesters you will work with your Faculty Advisor, your Degree Program Advisor, and ORFA staff throughout the registration process. For your first semester, however, the ORFA team will be your guide.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about courses and degree requirements, contact the STH Registrar\u2019s Office at <a href=\"mailto:sthregfa@bu.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sthregfa@bu.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><p class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Consider What Transportation Options You Will Utilize in Boston<\/p><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>If not bringing a car:<\/strong><br \/>\nMost students moving to Boston do not need a car, especially those living on- or near-campus. Public transportation is ample throughout the city and surrounding towns, and most students <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/parking\/student-commuter-benefits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">purchase a monthly T-pass<\/a><span> for their commutes. Options like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zipcar.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span>ZipCar<\/span><\/a><span> rentals and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lyft.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span>Lyft<\/span><\/a><span> or <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uber.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span>Uber<\/span><\/a><span> ride-sharing apps are also popular ways to have access to a car when needed without paying for insurance, gas, and parking in the city. Check out the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mbta.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span>MBTA website<\/span><\/a><span> \u201cTrip Planner\u201d to learn which T stop is closet to your housing, and determine whether you will need to have a bus pass, subway pass, or \u201ccombo\u201d pass that includes both subway and bus. Another option is biking around town, as Boston has many dedicated bike lanes and a robust biking culture. BU offers discounted annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/transportation\/bicycling\/bluebikes-discount\/\">Bluebikes<\/a> memberships. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>If bringing a car:<\/strong><br \/>\nIf your residence is far from campus and difficult to navigate by public transportation, driving in to campus is always an option. However, parking on and around campus is limited, so it is very wise to purchase an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/parking\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">on-campus parking sticker<\/a><span> if you come to campus most days. If you come to campus only a couple times each week, you may prefer to utilize the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/parking\/lots-locations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span>University\u2019s pay lots<\/span><\/a><span>\u00a0instead, and pay each individual time you park. We highly recommend that students living on- or near-campus do not bring a car. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><p class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Prepare to Make Your First Student Accounting Payment<\/p><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>Please familiarize yourself with the payment deadlines for the University\u2019s Student Accounting Services, as these are the times by which you must pay your student bill. These deadlines can be found on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/studentaccountingservices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Student Accounting Services website<\/a><span>. The deadline for incoming student payment is typically within the first two weeks of the term, and includes all tuition, fees, housing, and student health charges. Students can work with Student Accounting Services directly to create a payment plan if the total cost is too much to pay at once. If you have questions or concerns about payments, contact the Office of Registration and Financial Aid at <a href=\"mailto:sthregfa@bu.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sthregfa@bu.edu<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><p class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Complete the Entering Student Questionnaire<\/p><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p><em>(Fall incoming students only)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Every fall the Association of Theological Schools (the accrediting agency of seminaries in the US and Canada) surveys entering theological school students around the country. They collect demographic and financial information about students and inquire about motivations for entering seminary and professional aspirations. Data generated from these responses are helpful to academic deans, student services and admissions offices, and faculty. We would greatly appreciate it if you would fill out this survey. You will receive an email before Orientation with a link to the survey. If you have not received this link, please contact the <a href=\"mailto:sthregfa@bu.edu\">Registrar\u2019s Office<\/a><span> and we will resend it. Students matriculating in the spring do not need to complete the Entering Student Questionnaire.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<h2>Once Classes Begin<\/h2>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><p class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Meet with Your Faculty Advisor<\/p><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>In the early weeks of your first semester, the Academic Dean will assign you a Faculty Advisor, and this person is a resource to you as you build your curriculum in the program. The Academic Dean assigns faculty as students\u2019 Faculty Advisors on the basis of shared interests and fit, availability, and familiarity with a student\u2019s program. In the first few weeks of classes, you should make an appointment with your Advisor during their office hours to greet them and to begin conversing with them about your interests and vocational discernment. When it comes time to register for classes each term, you can meet with your Advisor to discern which courses are right for you. Beginning with your second term, you are required to meet with you Advisor to discuss your plan of study, as they have to sign off on your registration forms.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><p class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Subscribe to <em>BU Today<\/em> and <em>Collegium<\/em><\/p><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p><em>BU Today<\/em><span> is the campus digital newspaper, which contains helpful, informative, and fun stories about the BU community on a daily basis. This is also where campus closings, such as snow days, are officially communicated. Subscription is free. Students can read more and sign up to receive email or text alerts via the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/today\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em><span>BU Today<\/span><\/em> website<\/a><span>. The <\/span><em><span>BU Today<\/span><\/em><span> archives include many articles about campus life and history, student and alumni initiatives, and videos about BU and its surrounding neighborhoods. It is an excellent resource for incoming School of Theology students to learn about the wider University.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>As a member of the School of Theology community, you will be automatically enrolled in our internal weekly newsletter, <em>Collegium<\/em>. <em>Collegium<\/em> includes information pertinent to our own community: events happening through STH and around campus, job opportunities for STH students, and a weekly message from our deans that focuses on students&#8217; concerns and questions throughout the academic year. Some are based on identity markers, others come together for shared service, and some are just for fun. A sample list of student groups includes:<\/li>\n<li>Association of Black Seminarians<\/li>\n<li>Korean Students Association<\/li>\n<li>Association of PhD Students<\/li>\n<li>Ra\u00edces Latinx Student Association<\/li>\n<li>Sacred Worth, the LGBTQIA+ and Allies Student Group<\/li>\n<li>Wesleyan Students Association<\/li>\n<li>ELD-ers (Engaging Life Directioners) Student Group<\/li>\n<li>Unitarian Universalist Student Association<\/li>\n<li>ThECOlogy, the group for seminarians seeking ecological justice<\/li>\n<li>Cross-Disability Club<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sth\/community\/student-groups\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">student group<\/a> welcomes new student participation each term. Orientation will introduce you to the leaders of the STHSA, and through them you can get involved where you would like. And if you do not see a group that interests you, consider starting one of your own! All student groups are student organized and led.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><p class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Participate in Spiritual Life Offerings<\/p><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>The School of Theology offers robust resources for <a href=\"\/sth\/community\/spiritual-life\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">spiritual formation<\/a><span> and <\/span><a href=\"\/sth\/community\/worship\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span>worship<\/span><\/a><span>.
