Meet the Registration and Financial Aid Team

Jamie Shore
Registrar

Office: Suite 108
Email: shorej@bu.edu
Phone: 617-353-3045
Education:

Master of Divinity, Boston University
Bachelor of Arts, Gordon College

Jamie Shore (she/her/hers) has served in the Office of Registration and Financial Aid for the Boston University School of Theology since 2021. As a student at STH, she served as the Administrative Coordinator for BU’s Center for Practical Theology, as the Treasurer for Sacred Worth, and was very involved with the Anglican Episcopal Community of Learning.

Jamie is thrilled to be part of the administrative team at STH, to advocate for students, and to help create more just and equitable financial aid and registration policies. She hopes that her work helps create a learning community where all students experience deep belonging.

Jamie and her wife Rebekah live in an Episcopal intentional community in Allston centered on prayer, hospitality, and community gardening. She loves to knit, play cards, tend to the garden, and float in the ocean as much as possible.

Sara Taylor, Financial Aid Officer and Advanced Studies Coordinator

Office: Suite 108
Email: staylor@bu.edu
Phone: 617-353-3045
Education:
Master of Divinity, Boston University
Bachelor, University of North Florida

Sara Taylor (she/her/hers) began working in the Office of Registration and Financial Aid for the Boston University School of Theology in August of 2024. She graduated from Boston University School of Theology in May of 2025 with her Master of Divinity degree on the Global and Community Engagement track and a certificate in Faith and Ecological Justice. Prior to working in Suite 108, Sara worked across the hall in Suite 109 as the Graduate Assistant for STH’s Office of Development and Alumni Relations.

Sara has previously worked at a Wesley Foundation in Northeast Florida that served multiple campuses in the area and had an online ministry presence. She also has experience working at the university or community college level in residence life, research, online learning, disability services, first-generation assistance, student activities, and library services. Sara’s undergraduate degree is in sociology with a concentration in social welfare and a minor in communication studies.

In her free time, Sara enjoys going on long walks, cooking, playing board games, and doing embroidery. Lastly, if you ever find yourself in need of recommendations — or have suggestions — for gluten-free places to eat around Boston, Sara would love to talk with you. However, in the far more likely event that you have questions about financial aid or the advanced studies programs at STH, she is also very excited to chat about that.

May Hartness, Senior Program Coordinator

Office: Suite 108
Email: eulamay@bu.edu
Phone: 617-353-3053

Education:
Master of Theological Studies, Boston University

May Hartness (she/her/hers) joined the Office of Registration & Financial Aid in August of 2024. As a graduate of the Boston University School of Theology (MTS, ‘24), May was excited to become part of an empathetic and supportive Student Services Team that prioritizes students’ wellbeing alongside their academic success.

May’s own academic interests vary widely, and as a theological scholar she often finds herself standing at the intersection of spirituality, film, and the literary imagination. Her experiences as a student ranged across disciplines, as she found conversation partners in the BU College of Fine Arts, English Department, and through the Boston Theological Interreligious Consortium (BTI). In her current role, May is grateful to have the opportunity to support students as they engage with the BTI, as well as provide a listening ear for those interested in scholarship eddying outside mainstream constructs of religion.

You will likely find May seated comfortably with her popcorn at the Coolidge Corner Theatre, or scribbling in her Notes app on the Green Line. Say hi! If she looks alarmed, it’s not you, she startles easily. Like a cat.
