Compensation Guide

The Council, along with several other University leadership groups, provided feedback to BU HR throughout the development of the University’s first comprehensive compensation guide. The guide aims to help improve education and awareness of the HR compensation function to provide a better understanding of HR vocabulary and processes to staff across campus. The guide officially went live to the BU community on May 1, 2024.

Performance Management

Working with the Performance Management Redesign Working Group (PMRWG), the Council provided over 30 points of feedback ranging from clarification on how the rating scale is directly related to compensation to providing guidance for managers on writing and conducting performance reviews. The PMRWG is working with the consulting firm Ernst & Young to narrow down our ideas to a smaller more defined set of goals.  We met several times during the Spring 2024 semester, and the PMRWG will provide an update to the Council in Summer 2024.
