Ruth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A passionate advocate for public health social work, Betty J. Ruth provides broad leadership to advance its practice. Most recently, Ruth served as principal investigator for \u201cAdvancing Leadership in Public Health Social Work Education (ALPS),\u201d a project funded by the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) and headquartered at BUSSW\u2019s <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Center for Innovation in Social Work &amp; Health (CISWH)<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. To date, the project has produced three resources: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ALPS MSW\/MPH Program Handbook<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ALPS Recommendations to the Field<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ALPS Public Health Social Work Toolkit<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Ruth is co-principal investigator for another HRSA-funded project, \u201cPrimary Care Training and Enhancement Program at Boston Medical Center.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ruth\u2019s practice background is in substance use disorder treatment and prevention, cardiovascular disease prevention and infant mental health promotion. She serves in various leadership positions in professional organizations: She is co-founder and director of the Group for Public Health Social Work Initiatives, a working group dedicated to public health social work advocacy, training and research; membership director for the American Public Health Association\u2019s Public Health Social Work Section; and consulting editor for <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Health and Social Work <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Journal of Social Work in Public Health.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11983,"template":"","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ssw\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/33284"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ssw\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ssw\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/profile"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ssw\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/11983"}],"version-history":[{"count":6,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ssw\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/33284\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":51440,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ssw\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/33284\/revisions\/51440"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ssw\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=33284"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
