Her research explores how structural factors\u00a0such as\u00a0job quality and administrative factors\u00a0such as\u00a0policy eligibility criteria and application complexity\u00a0shape\u00a0families\u2019 ability\u00a0to\u00a0access and\u00a0benefit\u00a0from these policies.\u00a0Her analyses reveal\u00a0the extent to which\u00a0access to policies\u00a0is\u00a0equitable\u00a0by race\/ethnicity, immigrant status,\u00a0and income level.\u00a0She\u00a0led the development of the Policy Equity Assessment (PEA) framework, a tool for evaluating racial equity in public policies affecting children\u2019s\u00a0healthy\u00a0development.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:320}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Joshi conducts her research in partnership with government agencies, policy research organizations, and community-based groups.\u00a0She\u00a0currently\u00a0co-leads a study with\u00a0UnidosUS\u00a0on barriers to Hispanic and immigrant families\u2019 access to state-level paid leave benefits, co-leads the Massachusetts Child Care Research Partnership, a state<\/span><span>\/<\/span><span>\u2013<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">university collaboration evaluating innovations in\u00a0child care\u00a0subsidy policies, and serves as policy research director for diversitydatakids.org.\u00a0Her\u00a0recent research on\u00a0child care\u00a0affordability\u00a0was\u00a0recently\u00a0covered\u00a0in\u00a0<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Boston Globe<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:320}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">NASI is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to understanding how\u00a0social insurance\u00a0systems contribute to economic security.
