At Boston University School of Social Work, difficult conversations are part of the curriculum. In his classrooms,\u00a0Professor\u00a0Phillipe Copeland regularly guides students through complex topics\u00a0like\u00a0racism, trauma,\u00a0and\u00a0violence\u00a0which\u00a0can feel overwhelming in both scope and impact.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But over the years, one question has surfaced\u00a0again and again:\u00a0<\/span>What can we do?<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This spring, Copeland is taking that question beyond the classroom with the launch of his new podcast,\u00a0<\/span>From Issues to Action<\/span><\/i><\/a>, debuting May 1, 2026.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The monthly podcast\u00a0will\u00a0highlight conversations with scholars, leaders, artists, and everyday people making a difference. Copeland\u2019s goal is to shift the focus from problems to solutions, sharing stories of hope and real-world impact. Episodes will explore topics like inequality, violence, trauma, and health,\u00a0showing\u00a0listeners\u00a0how action is possible, both in communities and individually.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cStories about what the good people are doing\u2014and the difference they\u2019re making\u2014can be therapeutic,\u201d Copeland says. \u201cThey remind us that change is possible.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With\u00a0<\/span>From Issues to Action<\/span><\/i>, he invites everyone,\u00a0from students and alumni to policymakers and the public,\u00a0to move beyond awareness and toward meaningful action.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
