We seek a colleague suitable for joint appointment in any of the discipline(s) of Anthropology, Economics, History, Political Science, Sociology, or\u00a0<b>Social Work<\/b>\u00a0whose research and teaching focus on the African American experience, with particular emphasis on North America in the contemporary period.\u00a0 Candidates with complementary interests in and appreciation for the international and comparative dimensions of African American life are especially encouraged to apply.\u00a0 Areas of specialization within disciplines are open.<\/p>\n<p>Boston University expects excellence in teaching and in research and is committed to building a culturally diverse faculty and a multicultural learning environment.\u00a0 Candidates must have completed all requirements for the PhD before September 1, 2015.\u00a0 Applications should be submitted <a href=\"https:\/\/academicjobsonline.org\/ajo\/jobs\/4291\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>\u00a0and include 1) a letter addressed to Professor Linda Heywood, Chair of the Search Committee, describing your teaching and research interests and professional experience; 2) curriculum vitae; 3) two samples of your scholarly writing; and 4) three letters of reference, sent directly by your referees.
