Sophie Hansen is both a clinical and macro social worker who specializes in children and families. Each of her graduate placements were with children impacted by trauma. She has worked in numerous healthcare settings as a medical and psychiatric social worker since graduating in 2016.

Currently the State Government Relations Manager for Commonwealth Care Alliance, Sophie also works in the Emergency Department at Boston Children’s Hospital and also teaches at Boston College. Previously, she was the Director of Government Relations at NASW-MA. She is passionate about highlighting the link between clinical and macro social work, emphasizing how policy can impact social workers and clients directly. Additional areas of interest include: child welfare, behavioral/mental health, health policy, sexual assault prevention and reproductive justice with racial equity being a main component throughout.
