Practice and scholarly focus

I received my MSW in 1985 from Simmons College Graduate School of Social Work with a clinical concentration. Over the past 32 years I have worked in the Merrimack Valley area of Massachusetts in healthcare, outpatient mental health, schools, addictions, trauma, group work, adolescent issues, and cross-cultural issues with the Latino population. I volunteered with the local rape crisis center for many years as a clinical supervisor. I am fluent in Spanish and have a working knowledge of Portuguese. The majority of my clinical work has been with a Spanish-speaking population. I have been involved with BUSSW since 1987 as an agency-based field work instructor for many years, and later as a faculty advisor at the BU North off-campus sites.
