11/15: Julie “Jules” Netherland (SSW’95) Shares Expertise on Racialized Opioid Epidemic Responses in the United States

Julie “Jules” Netherland (SSW’95), an alum of BU School of Social Work, will share insights from their new book “Whiteout: How Racial Capitalism Changed the Color of Opioids in America” at Princeton University’s Global Health Colloquium. The talk will cover how historically racialized interventions, technology, and public policy led to mass overdoses among white Americans. They will also offer concrete solutions to create drug policies that protect everyone’s health and wellness, regardless of race.
